LMD texts/calls
Today I received 2 texts and 1 call promoting the thrillseekers at circus. I appreciate the trance acts you guys pull in, but I do not remember opting in to receive solicitation on my phone. What makes it worse is that there is no option to unsubscribe.
Mobile is a great way to target an audience, but unsolicited spamming is an easy way to get in trouble.
most of the time with those text messages it your reply STOP to them, they will send u a confirmation saying you requested them to stop sending things----not sure if it would work in this situation...
It wasn't me!
I'd actually like to be in it ONLY if they start sending redemption code for free Tacos at Circus

The chicken burritos are the bomb!

It used to drive me and everyone I knew nuts when 1015 would do it. Or someone was sending out 1015 info if it wasn't 1015.
It's just irritating. And annoying. And it just feels dirty.
It's different when a promoter says sign up to learn the lineup before anyone else or something. a special little thing using it. but for normal weekly promotions and being kinda sly on getting people's number for promoting through texts...lame-o.
But like others....if there's coupons for some free food in there...some of this may be forgiven! lol

) should play in the back room and not in the loft.
I texted them back and requested to be removed, have saved the numbers the call and text came from, I hope they stop.
i wanna say they may have gotu r # back when u could sign up for the midnight drawing at circus.. i really dont mind the texts because i got into gareth @ avec for free but i do know some pple out there who don have unlimited texting...
I am not personally involved in the LMD texts/calls (aside from texts I've sent my friends about Circus), but I will let the appropriate people know about the issues with excessive texts/phone calls.
Please send me a personal message with your number and we will take it off. These text only benefits the customers, because every thinks Thrillseekers wasnt going to be here because of the Euro Flight thing. Also we sent out a Free text last week which 200 people got in for free. But I will be happy to take it off, Also the phone call was because you bought presale tickets last time we thought since some customer might be busy so we just trying to remind them.. Sorry again
I think the main issue is that it needs to be told to people you are taking numbers from they may receive texts. Otherwise, it's completely unsolicited. While I didn't get these texts from Circus (so it's not all about me or anything), I already get enough unsolicted ones regarding resolving my debt, who to call if I lock myself out of my my car (yes, I get a random text from smoe two company...in FRESNO. Never stopped in Fresno in my life!), etc.
And If they are on a list, having to send a # to someone to have it removed is so the 1980s, lol. Wonder if there's any free or cheap system online for signing up on lists (where it has a phone # slot) where someone could go and change their preferences (for both email and texts!).
I'm not no harm was intended. And it probably didn't harm anyone in the end. But people just generally hate receiving unsolicted material!
I loved getting that text message...now I'm in on Saturday night for $12 with no wait in line and can spend more on drinks!
I do agree that there should be an easy opt-out option though, esp if you're getting charged per text...
Phone calls are a bit much, but seems if you asked them to remove your name from the list that they would?
I probably get 16 emails a week about various events going on at Circus, but there's always the "delete" key after the date is over for that.

I'm fine with the texts (I have unlimited texting).
Phone calls seem a little too much though. But I know LMD's heart is in the right place
I get texts all the time from Chemisty, circus, and god know shwat else. I never opted in, most of them got my number off of my facebook and I've given up trying to get them to stop, because once a month they scroll through all their facebook people and write down every fucking number. It's relly annoying, and I keep that in mind when I'm deciding what to do with my night. I wont go to a club that had texted me 4 times that week
I have never been to a chemistry event because of it
