| Music for Real Airports is a multimedia art project by musicians The Black Dog and interactive artists Human which is presented in art galleries. It is also a new album of music by the Black Dog. It is a response to the reality of occupying the semi-public space of an airport, and a contemporary reply to Brian Eno's work from the 70s. |
Sounds intriguing, looking forward to checking those samples out.
Pissed that I missed the tour when it came to London, so glad to see this will be released in the end. I would've liked to know a bit more about why exactly they feel that Music For Airports needs a "response" or "update" than what they divulge on their website, but ah well. Black Dog = buy on sight in my book.
I am excite.

| Has there ever been an airport that has played Music For Airports over its PA? [Fletcher Harrington, Lemon Hill, California] Eno: Yes. There've been about five now. The worst was in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I had a piece in an exhibition there and they'd prepared a special welcome for me. I got off the plane, walked into this hall and over the PA comes Music For Airports at excruciating volume! It was like distorted heavy metal. Not one of my finest ambient moments! |
Still love this release. Gave it another listen today while I was doing some work.
