I won't upload the Soungarden 320's this time, out of respect for Nick and his right to say "nay" every once in a while.
When its out, its out... and you should just roll with it (as an artist).
That is the digital age for ya... removing links or not doesn't have anything to do with respecting the artist.
Obviously normally all uploads that have albums are removed once noted by a mod, that's also in the guidelines of the forum.
Nick has a contract to do 6 frisky Radio shows over 12 months and it really don't help the radio show if your releasing something similar and for free for something they have paid for. And as soon as you say "well its out there now, we can't stop it" you just encourage more people to do the same. Maybe whoever had it should of left it a 6/12 months and it mite of been less of a problem. But then they could of asked him if they could record it in the first place. I'm also willing to bet that the Amsterdam thread and link are still on this forum.
When, as a site, you want to have a correct relantionship with a dj, you fill requests like these, that's the whole point. Zabiela posted the tongless em against his own interest, just to please fans.
This is just for debate's sake, of course, it's hard to "stop" a file from spreading.
I'm not saying that its fair, I'm just merely stating that you can't believe this will actually help it at all... it will just put it in the light more because ppl will think: "hey the set was taken offline, maybe it has some good and brand new stuff in there" and they will just find other ways to find it.
With that in mind its just my opinion, as far as my sense of these things go (meaning Im experienced enough in this field), that its tough luck, but just roll with it.
Im not encouraging more people to do the same either, it is my understanding that the club agreed that this could be put up for download on ms. This is what those special clauses are for in DJ contracts

The club's owner's good faith is out of question this time. He seemed genuinely shocked.

| Originally posted by Glaniskanis He also thought it was not entirely finished and thus he was not satisfied enough with it. So it was also in his own interest a little bit |
But he's a very nice guy. Danny Howells is another good guy, not to mention WOW (but they can be jealous of their stuff and strict from time to time).

Don't know what all the fuss is about, is it a trick? Are people just tryin to hype it up by making this fuss?
It's a very average mix, no real promos in there, a fair few old tracks that we've heard alot of other djs play earlier in the year.
The radio station have paid for him to be on their station because he is a big name and will bring more listeners and promotion. Something like this will not effect the station atall.
I really don't see the problem.
You don't really see what? Just read the posts above yours.
The file is still here on ta, and it can be found all over the Web, as Glannie has stressed out, what are you talking about?
What I mean is it's just a live recorded set like loads of others on here, its not even the best I've heard from him. There is no point crying about it it, it's done now. If Nick has really said he didn't want it recorded then I don't understand why. For him it's just extra promotion
You're not wrong but this is for debate's sake only, Nick never asked here and no one removed anything anyway, we're just talking about a dj's right to stop the distribution of something he didn't approve, whoever that dj is.

Yes but it's not a mixed cd is it? It a recording of a live event that he has been paid to do and therefore there is no problem as far as I can see. It is out of the artists hands.
Are you going to have a go at the people who recorded 10mins of that gig on their phones and demand they take them off YouTube?
I could understand your point if this was a mix that is copyriten or composed for making money but it's not.

| Originally posted by sex hitcher What your actually saying is you have a higher regard for the record company than the artist. You wouldnt apply the same principal to official releases which are also out there and available for free if you Google them because that would upset a record company and you would fear reprisals from a record company who could take legal action. What's Interesting is the record company will also tell you that they are trying to stop people downloading their music for free because they are looking after the interests of the artist. However if they where really looking after the artists they should really give them much better contracts instead of trying to exploit the artist at every opportunity |
