Any Upstate People Here?
So, since I go to school upstate (in Albany), does anyone do anything around here? I usually go home all the time, and go to all the events, but being up here is too long of a break, and need something to do, lol.
I used to go to UAlbany. There was a club that played techno and house a few years ago in the downtown area. If I remember what the damn name is, I will let you know......totally at the tip of my tongue!
I go to school upstate.
UA is a dump campus though...sorry.
The places, in Albany itself, all basically took a dump... nightlife is dying. The biggest thing they had up here was Louie DeVito back in January, and JP was here a year and a half ago...
The campus is a dump, but it is a lot of fun

Every school is a party school.
I go to the RIT in Rochester, NY.
I guess there are some 'EDM scene' in Rochester, NY but they are not my cup of tea.( I don't know what DJs play in Downtown ROC) I go to Buffalo(Events @ Pure become my recent favorites. They are relatively cheaper and closer to me. And sometimes they bring good DJs) or Toronto( They are kinda shorter to me than going down to Manhattan). I used to go down to Manhattan for club nights. Actually my first-ever attended club night was PvD @ Roxy circa 2004. second attended club night Ferry Corsten @ Avalon(ahh... memories) circa 2004. Memories..

I go to school at SUNY Cortland... last show I went to was ASOT 450, day 3. Amazing.
correct me if im wrong...didn't m.i.k.e. just play up there? and above and beyond??
I went to Syracuse so i feel your upstate pain. Check out turningstone casino, their club is actually pretty nice. they don't get too many big names but they do play electronic on some nights. i saw bad boy bill there, and some chick with a Mohawk, forget her name, but damn fun nights...
DJ Irene :-) That was a pretty fun night. pretty reckless actually. we snuck in our own liquor... a lot. oh yeah and I banged that girl who said she was 27 but god knows how old hse really was. when I brought her home at 7 am her dad was out front holding an axe in bumfuck, NY. LOL!!! totally forgot all about that.
but yeah, in syracuse there is an underground EDM scene but its not trance. They like some house and they LOVE psy-trance. booked infected mushroom there. Mikey Parkay is a pretty sick DJ.
Buffalo has Pure I guess, and the ROC im sure has got some sort of venue for some underground scene that they have. ill ask steven russell he still lives there.
I used to just hop on a greyhound from syracuse to port authority, go to the club then hop on a bus back
Yup, I heard about them places out in Buffalo/Roc...... but its the same distance to go back to NYC.... would rather attend an event in NYC than go out there, for the same amount of money.... there use to be a bunch of warehouse parties in Albany, but the scene has took a crap on the city.
factory at pure in buffalo

I used to go to school upstate SUNY OSWEGO, and there was no scene up there at all. Everyone listened to dave mathews band and pink floyd (which is cool), but no one i knew was really into EDM except for a few of my frat buddies who were from long island and nyc. i just came home on the weekends when i really needed a good party
