MCs that you actually liked?

I know alot of you, hate mcs, because they're loud and annoying, i was wondering if any of you guys actually heard a set, where the MC was actually good?

I liked the one in DJ Tiesto - live @ energy 2000,

in Vengaboys - Kiss (airscape remix), i think he adds to the song

Posted by dj willie whop on Jul-17-2002 18:41:

yep
thats the one i was gonna say

Posted by djshorts on Jul-17-2002 18:41:

this might sound like im a traitor but Mc Vapour fucking rocks him special and para on the mark ryder cd are fucking excellent!

that cd is so good (i know its uk garage)

IMO thats a rhetorical question (question that has no answer). All MCs are usually annoying because they are butting in over the music. I say let the music speak for itself and let the music make the people go wild. And doesn't it annoy you in the Energy 2000 set when the MC is explaining a whole bunch of shit about a tour during the breaks in both '2000 (dumonde remix)' and 'airwave'? That kind of stuff drives me nuts.

MCs fukking annoying indeed, who needs them anyway?
i remember my dad tellin stories about MC and stuff, but thats like 500 years ago...

i dont think it is possible to liek an MC, they belong in garage, SHITE MCs go with SHITE music.

Well,I must admit that at times, the MC in Marco V's Mysteryland 01-set actually gets the crowd really hyped. Not always, but for example on the transition between Marco Zaffarano and Ca-Lo + during the breakdown of Born Slippy (CJ Stone Remix),he really times it right and the crowd love it.There's other times where he just should keep his mouth shut of course, but it all depends on timing and knowing when to stop yelling, and let the music speak for itself. Some MCs manage to do that, and when they do,it rocks!!!!!

hes a right wank
he ruined the energy in airwave right @ the end with that innercity 'out of date' shite
that mc was a right fag if ya ask meh...

the best mcs must be the drum 'n bass ones
adam f, andy c
etc

Posted by Ray_Finkle on Jul-17-2002 20:19:

THe guy in the energy 2000 set was alright up until he started going on about "INNERCITY IN THE YEAR 2000! GIVE IT UP FOR MAH MAN TIESTO PLEASE!"

Yeha, though that "can I see some hands in the air please" part just before the climax of Arrakis - The Spice was a real put off...

mc skibadee.... and yes mc's don't belong in trance sets.

but they can really hype up a DnB set.

Posted by Ian on Jul-17-2002 20:53:

MCs over dont go....

But, from my old Happy Hardcore days, MC Storm was great, Whizzkid was ok, Livelee was good too, and when Mark EG gets on the mic, he really tears the place up

SHITE! I forgot about the Club <<> dude!
He is awesome in the 2 year anniversary set from Tiesto

Posted by Floorfiller on Jul-17-2002 22:25:

i don't mind the comments made in the old oakie mix back in 99 at gatecrasher lotherton hall. i think it was tong wasn't it? anyway he only say a little something during the break down and then gets out.

"nice one brutha........I SAID NICE ONE!!!" hehe i was just listening to that today and its a classic.

Posted by DJ Dingel on Jul-17-2002 22:27:

Pete Tong always does a stellar job.

I liked the female MC for Judge Jules @ Qontact 2001.
"This... is.... judge... jules... c'mon people!"
"Make some fucking noise..... for DJ Judge Jules"

Posted by teo on Jul-17-2002 22:51:

ok...stupid question but what is exactly an mc's work? only talking on the microphone? and presenting the djs performing in the event ?..

Posted by UWM on Jul-17-2002 23:08:

Not really an MC I guess, but the guy who does all the voice overs and intros at Sensation - his voice OWNS!

And the DJ @ Qontact last year was tolerable, but this year she was just brutal (see: DJ Astrid's Set)

Posted by Ray_Finkle on Jul-17-2002 23:41:

the ID&T voiceover dude has an awesome, deep voice

Posted by ampburner on Jul-17-2002 23:47:

only one MC that I really like to hear...

MC MARXMAN

Posted by Tranz on Jul-18-2002 00:14:

MC's suck. They should be banned. Everyone goes to hear the DJ, not some ass screaming on the mic. That asshole that ruined Tiesto's set @Impluz this year should be shot.

Posted by grafal on Jul-18-2002 01:14:

No, I have never heard a MC I didnt want to shoot for ruining my trance experience.
