Exclamation Favorite TV shows atm?!

I just started getting into Modern Family.. I would watch it when I found it on the tv.. but I never remembered the days/time it was actually on. I decided to get Season 1 so I can catch up and I simply love this show. I can't stop laughing - even the kids on the show will say something to make you laugh.

I also like the show Castle

Modern Family is one of my favorite new shows this season, and at first I thought I wouldn't like it.

Right, it's absolutely hilarious!

All the characters are so great - I hope it doesn't fail!!!

Havent seen Breaking Bad or Modern Family but was told to do so. 24, Californication, Entourage (though lost its touch). Californication I think is a solid show and waiting on the new season.

I need to start seeing Breaking Bad, heard a lot about it.
I'm still sad over the end of Nip/Tuck... and waiting for the last season of Weeds, it's gotten a little out of control, but still love it.

No reservations is a big one for me, as well as all the new crop of mixology and drinking shows.

Posted by PatMcGroin on May-03-2010 07:16:

the end of nip/tuck was horrible. actually the entire last 3 seasons were horrible. towards the end you could really tell they ran out of fucking ideas and were just stringing along the dumbest shit just so they could get to 100 episodes. season 1 + 2 own without a double. season 3 was awesome but with the dumbest ending. season 4 was okay but starting to go down and then well 5, 6, and 7 were so horrible i wish i would of never watched them. i think the fact that they had that 'new york' chick from flavor of love as a guest on one episode (and isnt that the only work she ever got other than sucking a crackheads dick?) says it all.

but for anyone who hasnt seen breaking bad, do yourself a favor and start watching it. its REALLY good.

My brother got me watching Community. It's a really funny show with good characters. Joel Mchale from The Soup is great in it, so is Chevy Chase and the supporting characters all do a really good job.

Oh, I def agree with you, every once in a while they would have a good episode, but for the most part the last seasons were dumb compared to the ridiculousness of the first 3 seasons. I still couldn't stop watching it The ending was so stupid, part of my sadness is that my favourite characters were reduced to nothing by the idiot writers towards the end.

I will def start catching up with Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is probably the best show on TV right now. Anyone who has not seen it, you have to see it from the beginning. There actually is a great story behind the insanity. Best thing about it is that just when you think it cannot get any crazier it does. Last episode was great and I hope Hank survives, his character adds a whole other angle to the shitstorm

And 24 was good last night, Jack finally lost his mind and is starting to kill anyone that screws with him. About fuckin time IMO, and I want to see how far up the ladder he goes with his executions ...

I told myself before this episode that it was time for someone in the show to die and I would'nt have minded if that was Hank. Obviously he's an important character but I wouldnt' have been surprised if he was killed in the shootout This show has thrived on throwing us curveballs. Expect the unexpected. My god, the scene at the beginning with Tio and the brothers was simply astonishing! when Tio says "la familia es todo" .......sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttt. the camera angle and the dark appearance of the scene was breathtaking....

and notice how one of the brothers ripped the legs and head off of the toy G.I joe? hehe great foreshadowing! if you go to the amctv breaking bad forum you'll find people who analyze every episode and point out crazy subtleties that are trademarks of this show.

btw I'm absolutely stunned that I dont see a thread about this show in the COR. i c one in canada

Posted by MeLLyMeL on May-05-2010 02:31:

i wanna try breaking bad, now! I saw an advertisement on the bus for this show and thought of you guys

lol

Posted by PatMcGroin on May-05-2010 05:44:

we had a breaking bad thread here during seasons 1 and 2 i think. but like everything else it got lost in the off season. we could bump it but it be pointless to have that thread and this thread compete.

but seriously mel... do it! season 1 is short, only like 7 episodes i think, but i got sucked it in so quick.

Hank's character is not likeable, in that he plays the typical control freak cop asshole type. When he almost killed Jesse I was sure they were going to kill him off. But his unicorn-chasing like obsession with capturing the infamous "Heisenburg" and fact he has no clue who he really is has made for a great storyline. The day he finds out & that shit blows up will be insane. The way he did in the 2 Mexican brothers was classic, what a scene. The question now is what happens when the Mexicans send in reinforcements, and how long will it take for Jesse to fuck everything up once again. That guy with $1.5 million is a massive trainwreck waiting to happen ...

Modified for spoiler prevention

YES! The last actor/actress that i couldnt stand from this series of 24 (or the top ones i wasnt a fan of) is gone. Man i couldnt stand that person. Cant act for shit. Funny thing is i assumed they picked the person up from SciFi or some crap and then i find out he/she was on some scifi show HAHA.

Watched this on Hulu a few weeks ago, a very funny show with some outrageous characters!

absolutely! I have a dislike for Hank but I've developed some sympathy for him ever since he had the incident with Tuco and ended up with PTSD. I'd been going through some anxiety myself so when he has an anxiety episode I tend to feel for him.

Now that you mentioned the great chase to find Heisenburg by Hank, wasn't the RV scene where it seemed as if the moment had finally come gut-wrenching??? I was like, " ohh my gawdddd ....Hank is about to meet Heisenburgggggggggggg" llloooolll

Mel, i highly recommend this show. Season 1 and 2 are on the net
