Jason ftw

Jason has the personality of a stump. Freddy was my hero growing up. I had a friend who was good at shop and he helped me make an actual glove, looked just like the real thing.

Parts 1 & 2 were excellent, got a little hokey after that, but still good in a way.

I'm expecting very little, but want to like it. The first section on the Friday remake was pretty good, so if parts of this hold up I'll be happy.

to be honest towards the end the whole " Nightmare on Elm street" franchise got really cheesy , I couldnt stand Robert Englund anymore I think the first 3 were good but after that it all went down the hill.

and Jason for did it for me on the first one then he was a moron

All of the odd numbered ones were best. The original obviously, #3 was Dream Warriors, #5 was the Dream Child, and the 7th was Wes Craven's New Nightmare. The ones in between were basically garbage.

i thought dream warriors was 4..

i'm probably wrong...but anyways that was my favorite.

the 2nd one scared me to the point that i had to sleep with my parents for a month after i watched it.

the part i turned it off was at the scene when the gym teacher was getting killed by basketballs and what not.

[/useless information that only I care about]

Preview is exite-ful.

lol this remake was so lame. i'm going to rewatch the original 1 and 2 now.

incidentally, its been decades since i saw the original nightmare...i didn't realize freddy was a child molester lol

Posted by BTG on May-01-2010 06:00:

lol i dont think they ever said he was a child molestor..just he murdered little girls...

anyways...i'm curious, is it on par with the new halloween and jason movies?

like they're not necessarily AWFUL but they don't offer anything new, with you leaving the theatre like "meh it wasn't bad"

Posted by tubularbills on May-01-2010 06:05:

well the new halloween movie had a lot more emphasis on what made michael psycho....so i guess zombie wanted to have more "character development"...but still left it to be as "pure evil" or whatever. the original halloween had more slash in it; which really is what everyone wanted to see anyway lol. plus the ending was a little diff in the original.

a buddy of mine lent me the original nightmare movie, but i thinik his dvd sucks cause i can't get it to play on anything. which is annoying cause i wanted to compare it to the new nightmare remake. maybe the new one was child molestation and the original was just killing little girls?

in any case, i still kinda lol'd that Michael Bay was attached to it.

So his dad played hard to get, then?

Krueger appears in the 2010 remake,[14] with Jackie Earle Haley taking over the role in Robert Englund's stead.[15] The character will retain the iconic attire: four-bladed glove, fedora and red and green striped sweater.[16] It was confirmed that the character's surreal humor will be dropped in order to make him more serious than his previous appearances, making this Freddy focusing on his vengeance against those who fatally wronged him rather than his gleeful sadism on the love of killing. In this film, his character background more realistic then his 1984 counterpart, instead of a power plant worker who was a child murderer, Krueger was a preschool gardener who also was a child molester, the protagonist Nancy Holbrook (Rooney Mara) being his "favorite".

anyone remember the simpsons parody where groundskeeper willie was freddie? lol

bribed my gf today by buying her some sandals for our upcoming trip, and saw it tonight.

didn't really feel like i wasted my money..but freddy had as much personality as jason or michael myers, cept he said a few things here and there.

very bland and predictable...and i wouldn't have cared if freddy seemed to be a little more demented.

i understand that the originals got kinda goofy with his one liners, but he still could have been more sinister. like what tubular said (i think)

he didn't seemed to get off on them being scared, even though he did reference it near the end...it just seemed like he was reading a line instead of actually relishing in her terror.

but what ever...it's a crappy horror movie with blood and guts. 2/5
