Las Vegas Music Conferece/Vegas Music Experience

They promoted heavily during WMC. Anyone know when this is going down this year? Their site doesnt mention anything. Is it the last weekend of September or the week before that?

They need to do a final confirmation on the date. It will probably be the weekend after Love Evolution in SF tho.

Really? Usually it is in September. Though this year its going to be much bigger so perhaps a date change makes sense. Any idea when that confirmation will happen?

After Lovevoltution is October 7-9

hahaha that shit tanked big time when they did it a few years ago

Yea though this time they said they might be using the arena there and since the vegas scene has improved and grown into EDM, I would imagine it would be like Memorial day weekend if they do it properly and coordinate everything well. Right now vegas has MDW and 4th of July for EDM. Adding another week or so would be great. And if they will use the arena - even better

I would only come if they can demonstrate two things:

1) They expedite the entries, not to do any stupid holding line shit. That thing can only work with tourists and newbies, not seasoned clubbers.

2) Cover charge be in line with demand with the rest of the country. I would come for the music, and would not pay for some distorted Vegas wild party scene.

actually Sam Boyd Stadium would be the big venue... not one of the casino areans or where unlv plays.

Oh ok. I thought they might do it at the Convention Center - didnt think they would try it outdoors.

Not sure what is going on here. If these dates are correct or not. It says dates posted soon but then has this. Says 2010 Registration prices but if you look at the date for early bird, it says 2007. And those are the same dates as their attempt in 2007. Who knows.

one of the guys putting this all together was telling me about that as being the venue for a huge party... they were just waiting for UNLV to finalize their home football schedule when we chatted last... once that was set they could set the rest of the dates.

but who knows what the final venue(s) will be for this. i was told the Light Group would be heavily invovled as well so i assume they would use their venues like Haze, Bank, Jet, etc.

I know the Palms will also play a part in this pretty heavily - least they have in the past.

Can't predict how it will work out. Organizers at the Light Group and Palms have lots of experience at prompting big names and throwing parties with hypes. To run a successful conference for the long term, they would have to somehow provide an environment for other up and coming DJs and producers to throw some good parties and make some money as to cover the travel expenses. People in Miami can do it with WMC. San Francisco can do it on a limited scale with Lovevolution. To run a successful conference, it can't just be about "ME" for the organizers, since other folks are from faraway, and you don't expect them to do their usual promotions and logistics.
