ROLLING bassline tutorial
now i know this always comes up so i figured id post this.
not sure if any of you have seen this before.. but if someone is looking for a easy learn tutorial i found this on my lunch time internet browses
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txYvRthi7FQ
the main reason i think it will be good is that it shows you the midi that you need to get a rolling baseline happening .
standard issue trance
it doesnt however stop and show you how to make the sounds but they sound like normal presets on sylenth or similar.. so easy to find!
hope this is helpful to someone
JC
Thanks enjoyed that, made me wonder when I do exactly the same as this why im not happy with the results. Sounds maybe?

Damn son, why you get so angry? lmao!
This is a good tutorial actually there is another one on youtube just like it. It is made by another guy, and it looks almost the same as this one except w/out the vocals.
As far as this one, its rather generic - but still fairly well put together imo. Definitely impressed me, the odd thing however is when I heard the sub the first thing that came to mind was "wheres the bass?", because the volume just seemed so low.
I would imagine with the amount of layering this guy does, it limits him at the same time by needing to lower the volume in every extra sound he adds to the track. I like this one, but I would have scrapped some sounds for some more fx driven type stuff, to add a bit of an original edge to the sound. Thats really the hardest part, getting those deep edgy atmospheres that really gives your sound a different dimension in quality.
i made the first half of song yesterday using this tutorial and it sound great.
used sylenth1 for almost all my sounds except offbeatbass
and the pad leading into the breakdown that was virus.
ill upload it when im home tonite. it sounds quite alright.
i did add a couple of things extra things extra like some plucks.
as i didnt have vocals to work with but still.
good tutorial.
I don't think I'd know what a rolling bass-line was based on watching that.
A bunch of random cheap sounds thrown together with plenty of sidechain, great!
upload cannons :P
