Armand Van Helden @ Aria - July 20th

Ok guys, I know its not trance, I know he said "fuck trance" etc etc. All I want to know is if anyone else than me is going to this Its the first time in 2 years he's in town and first time in a club.

So WHO'S coming?

like i said i dont like house but maybe cause i never heard a dj live that can move me :P i might go since i will be in town.

I remember in 99... when I was still listening to soem house at that time.. He made this track called "You don't even know me" which was playing in every single club every single night... and at same time there was this song "King of my Castle" ... same kind of thing...
And king of my castle had a remix made by Armin but which wasn't playing in clubs... I didn't understand why... I found it so great...
I said to my self... "Fuck House"... "Let's get to know more about this Armin van Buuren" and you know the story today...
AVB sets us in a State of Trance baby!

as commericial as it is.. You dont' know me stuff is house.. maybe its on the cheesy side for some, but still house.

Whats weird, and why you probably associate it with 'King of the Castle', is because they used to play it at top40 clubs all the time (probably mixed in right after the Thong Song or something), so in your head its just top40 bullshit.

*But* if you heard that song (or any roger sanchez, basement jaxx, etc. song) along side a proper house set, you'd just say, 'hey, that's a dammned good track'!

basically before dismissing house completly, make an effort and try to get out and appreciate 'proper' house DJs, and dont get it confused with dance/house/r&b music..

Its not that I'm confusing it with something else..
Its just that I lost complete interest.

Nahhh House is good and Armand is a top notch remixer and producer. This saturday will be HOT!!
Armand is a star and he will give us a good show!

I`m not a big house fan but I realy enjoyed his set @ CELEBRATION 2000

And if you re willing to go out you should check out Binary Finary this week end at Ero 5 if they ever show up

last time the party got busted right? should be ok i mean i only know the 1998, 1999, 2000 and the other single they put out and since it's a live show i dont know what else i would expect from them

Its sad that some people aren't that open minded about music as to stick only to Trance, I mean come on, its Armand Van Helden!!! he has been at the summit of the house scene for about 6-7 years now! You can't go wrong. He's part of the mongoloids trio, Roger Sanchez and DJ Sneak are the other two of that trio.

But again its a tranceaddict forum

And as for Armand being commercial?!?!??!? dude you're completly wrong. I'm not gonna bother giving you any proofs of this, all you have to do is listen to his albums. All I have to say is give this guy a try... he is excellent.
