Where is the Vegas house scene?
I'm a local and can't find anywhere that plays anything but hip hop and mash-ups.
godskitchen inside vanity at hardrock thursday
z trip rain at palms on friday
perfecto rain at palms on saturdays
moon sundays
plus the pools at mgm and encore(robbie rivera and kaskade respectively as summer residents)
The other day, I was in a club and heard this DJ from Tao Nightclub Las Vegas. It was basically the same thing everywhere I heard in Vegas. I got sick of it. I have to wonder, do Vegas locals get sick of the same hip hop and mashups, especially those people who work in clubs?
Yesss... so sick of the same old thing. Vanity on Thursdays is pretty good and I've come across one place that has the only true progressive house and trance in Vegas but I'm gonna keep that one hush hush... still a very small venue and still pure house. The only problem is there's no lighting system. Vanity is definitely the best for that. My friend did the lighting design. Great lighting but not pure house.
I looked up Z Trip at Rain and it came back with hip hop? Looks like he plays Snoop and says "yawll" a lot? Not my jam but could be fun.
I was just with a local this last weekend there. Other than Blush Wed night and Vanity Thursday (in the main hotels)
Check out the Artisan Hotel. (boutique hotel off strip) No Cover and I was there afterhours so it prob starts and goes forever.
yeah idk i caught 10 minutes of z-trip at coachella and couldn't stand more than that. i've never seen him in vegas tho
Lol! Mar if it was Friday I probably saw you there. The background in my avatar is the Artisan patio.

) about the lack of good house/techno just this weekend.
Of course there is...Welcome to the club, welcome to PERFECTO...
...I was at the Artisan for a cool 5 minutes, we were doing some nightclub, stripclub (Sapphire), afterhours bouncing.
Also look into the new Gold Lounge at the Aria Hotel. They just started an afterhours called Rise. I was there Sat morning 6amish. (what time I ended up driving in...love random Vegas trips! (my second home I call it)
See above. Very small venue. I had never hear of the dj Dave Onex but he was awesome and cool as hell. Last dj to take requests and set us up with some of his tracks on the way out. That was when he finally stopped spinning around 9 am. He was suprised when we tipped him out at the end of the night. Cool guy and very talented.
there's also a thriving Deep House scene there with Jesse Saunders having a night and Edgar Reyes having another.
Z-Trips video @ 2:20 (the fire re-make), is pretty sweet though
Z-Trip is terrible
ya artisan was cool, we went there last month upon arrival to the city. some friends do an event wednesday night "LOCAL MOTION" not sure where though lol.
simply put, for us folk who go clubbin at normal hours (usual fri/sat nights 11-3amish), your choices for vegas edm fun/packed club is VERY limited.
essentially, there is perfecto at rain on sat night. thats about it.
all other edm stuff is during the week or afterhours that dont get poppin till 5AMish.
That got me really concerned whether they can run a successful Vegas Music Conference. It looks like most places, clubs, lounges, restaurants, and bars aren't willing to let EDM DJs perform, unlike Miami. Most DJs probably won't return if they don't get a chance to perform.
Maybe they can consider throwing some big festivals, something like SF LE festival, where every DJ gets to spin.

There is noooo good music scene in Vegas if you are into forward thinking music like deep house, tech house, techno...
For cheesey trance and older sounding electro the "city is your oyster". Even during the big holiday weekends bad bad bad. Even guys like Victor tweek their sound to a bit more cheese. I thank my lucky stars live in a place like Toronto where every single weekend we can pick and choose from some of the best of genres and pioneers behind those sounds.
P.S. I will be in Vegas for Labor Day as I am every year and several times throughout the year because sometimes you take the good with the bad, and aside from no good tunes Vegas is heaven for me!!

Was digging and finally found this thread. I'm heading up to Vegas for June 18th weekend. I guess Perfecto it is! Does anyone here have the hookup? I don't want to wait in line for hours, since it's me and the guys weekend in Vegas, they probably won't let just us guys in hehe. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
what happened to the likes of....
Eddie McDonald
Faarshed
Chris Garcia

Z-trip performed at Sungod (UCSD) this year. A lot of people were really excited to see him, but I thought his set was just okay. Most of the music he played was dub-step. no houseee =(
