Downloading

Hope the file works fro me, I'm kind of sad I didn't get to hear your Classics Mix

Posted by Nivo on May-22-2010 08:19:

excellent as always
(a cue sheet would be very handy)

Posted by tubularbills on May-23-2010 06:46:

downloading.

Absolutely gorgeous tunes mate. Your taste in music is nothing short of awesome, and you have the skills to put it together (regularly) into something that should get way more exposure than it does.

Thanks for the mix

Suitably humbled by your praise. Thanks!

As I have said in the past these mixes are as much for my own pleasure than anything else. I stumble upon a lot of great music each month and this is a handy way for me to summarise it in a succint format.

Thanks for the other downloads guys, I will work on a .cue sheet also.

Sweet! Looking forward to this one. The previous three have been regularly rinsed on my ipod.

Posted by fbgdavidson on May-27-2010 02:33:

When I play this through iTunes it is all scrambled and 'squeaky'. Anyone know why? When I play it through Windows Media Player or Creative Media Source Player it seems fine. I downloaded it a second time and it did the same thing.

I had that problem with his classic mix!!

Posted by Sushipunk on May-27-2010 02:51:

That's weird, both mixes worked fine for me

Gimme a bit, and I'll upload it to my webspace. See if that makes a difference.

Posted by Lews on May-27-2010 02:52:

It doesn't Stu. I downloaded his classics mix from you, from Jack, and from him. It never worked right

Wtf. No idea then.

Anyone having issue with this mix can try getting it from here as well, on the off-chance that it makes a difference:

Really unusual that it's sounding weird for some people. Any tech boffins in the house care to help me out?

Here's that stages I take:

Get 320kbps mp3s from Beatport,juno etc
Compile and mix using Ableton Live!
Export .wav file
Convert .wav file to 320kbps .mp3 using Switch File converter
Upload the mix to sendspace/megaupload etc.

That is fairly standard no?

PS. thanks for the perm download Sushipunk. Much appreciated. I'll whack it on the main page.

Strange! I had no problems with the Classics mix in iTunes (editted to say: was actually with my iPod, it still effs up in iTunes) but am with this one.

Were you able to play the classics mix when using different media players?

Yeah I got this too. I skipped ahead to around 10 minutes & it was still squeaky & I thought, "Wow what a long intro "

Thanks man. Already working on the next mix, it's shaping up to be a beaut, found some special tracks.

Sorry for anyone having download issues, have literally no idea why the file sounds weird..?!

Sorry to bump this...but a thought for those having problems. Have you tried putting it on an iPod or some other mobile media device?

I played sunsurge's Classics Mix last night through iTunes for the first time and it was all squeaky and scratchy but I've been listening to it on my iPod for a while now with no problems. I'm going to d/l this one again and see if it works on my iPod.

Posted by Sushipunk on Jun-25-2010 22:07:

Good bump, I've been listening to this all month.

I've got every one of your Windmill sessions new and old. I still listen to all of them. Im not some kind of authority on good mixing, but its easy to notice your improvement over the past two years or so. Keep up the good work. This is one of your best sets so far.

Thanks man Makes me grin like a chump reading feedback like that.

Just put the new mix up. I'm very happy with this latest one, seems to have all fallen into place nicely, looking forward to your thoughts.
