It is peaceful, except for the noisy birds

I take care of the plants.

Wow! you have a very good hand with them. I usually kill them by putting too much water or too little
do the birds chirp really really early in the morning? or just all day?
also, were you born & raised in australia?

I water them twice a week in the spring/summer/autumn and once a week in the winter, unless they look like they need more/less. They all get slow-release fertilizer a couple of times a year as well (end of winter and end of summer).

'Chirp' is not a work I would use for Kookaburras. Do you know their laughing sound? Youtube it if you don't They usually come around pretty early too There are lots of other birds around though, you can hear them all day. Butcher birds are noisy little shits too, haha.

Yes, I'm Australian. I was born in Melbourne, and grew up an hour or so north of Brisbane here, on the Sunshine Coast.

As if Nou isn't going to use this thread as material for a spot of light stalking

From the 1st terrace looking down over the hedge and patio.
That used to be lots of big serpentine(serpentite?) rocks, I chucked them out and threw ferns and flowers in there.

Back patio area with fishpond and fountain

Goldfish pond, I put that in
Bricks where heavy.

Steps up to the pool, when wet will also cull the clumsy members of the human race.

Little bit of lawn just off the steps thats the 1st terrace
Bird feeder, don't get many nice birds here, cat eats the slow ones

Backyard up near the pool on the 2nd terrace

Posted by Lews on May-22-2010 06:45:

Damn Lilith that's a beautiful backyard. I love the goldfish pond

Posted by Sushipunk on May-22-2010 06:46:

I really like your place, Lilith. It's so damn neat

I've always liked the type of bricks you're using for the retaining walls on your terracing, too. They look class

Edit: My jade plants always die though

Forgot to say Stu, your place looked super serene. Looks like it would be awesome to just chill on the deck, as long as no spiders came
