Dunno Allen & Heath Xone 62 or Pioneer DJM-3000

Allen & Heath Xone 62 or Pioneer DJM-3000?!?! can someone help me out!

Posted by MekTek on Jul-19-2002 15:53:

i'd say the xone 62 all the way, just look at the specs on it, and a Pioneer EFX500 for the fx. can't wait till i can save up some money for one n get rid of my Roland DJ-2000.

NO Questions about it... Xone 62 is superior.. U can get it around $885 shipped..

well if I were you, I would buy the djm600
dunno, I just love this thing

Confused

i was thinking of the DJM-600 too but i LOVE the way the xone is laid out n it has 2 analog filters, enough inputs to use as a live mixer as well on it as well as a lot of other great features that i just can't pass up. oh n gotta ask you something about the 600..the efx500 is the only FX unit i've found that doesnt drop out when u change the delay time. i love making my own builds and rolls so this is key for me. does the 600 also do that or does it drop out like my Roland DJ-2000? i still would get the xone, no matter, but i was always curious about that.

What does "drop out" sound like?

it depends on what your style is.. my debate was also between these two choices but it basically narrowed down to me needing a rack mountable mixer that will fit w/ the cd controller for my cd decks.. the xone is too big to be rack mounted, however the djm3000 will fit perfectly w/ my cd controllers.. if i only had my tt's then i'd prolly go w/ the xone 62 hands down because the layout is nice and sound quality is better.. but since i mix w/ 2 tt's and the 2 cd decks, i need to be more efficient w/ space, so as soon as i get the rack and new mixer, i'll be set.. i say go w/ the xone tho..

Definately the Xone 62. Even though it costs just a bit more it is pure QUALITYYY!! The 3000 is a good mixer, but not on the level of the Xone 62.

Though out of the 32 and 3000, the 3000 definately

lets say your running the delay timing at the 1/2 note setting..2 measures later jump to the quarter note setting to double it up..then u want to quadruple it at say measure 4 so hit the 1/8 note button (all ontime of course)...as to simulate a build...the sound shouln't drop out n the delay start over but rather it should double up right away and sound like a steady building roll..try this with the efx500 and then with anything else and you'll see what i mean. the efx is the only one i've found that the delay dosn't stop and restart when you change the delay setting but rather just doubles up, quadruples or cuts in half, etc.. (if u chose to do that). it's a great technique to use to create builds and the like on the fly by doing this and rolling off the bass off, running it through the efx500 filter at the same time, slamming it back at the beginning of measure 5 while cutting all fx. the djm600's supposed to be the efx500 built in button it doesn' have the controls that the 500 does so i didn't think it could do this either...but i was always curious since it's one of the few i didn't get a chance to play with the dlay settin on. know what i mean?

The xone is basically the same price... a little under $900

The xone:32 is an AWESOME box. I got the 32 because i didnt want the 4 band EQs nor a 19" mixer - i like the smaller form...
plus.. the slider for the VCF's is easier to deal with than knobs... the 32 is easier to operate (less jazz) but still has the same excellent quality! and it's only about $650 !!

The xone 62 is one of the best mixers on the market. You should definitly go for it, but you should test it before you buy it.

after dominating the normal sound equipement world for years A&H they came into the dj world.

they haven't released a lot of dj stuff yet but trust me more is coming .... and XONE mixers are only the beginning of the tip of the iceberg!

and pioneer mixers are of good sound quality , they have to many added features that are pointless ( bpm counter for exemple which I find dumb as hell but that's my own personnal opinion ) and lack vital things like parametrics and effect loops ....

ok effect loops are only supposed to be on higher level mixers ( that means if should be on there! )
but come on is Pioneer dumb for not having parametrics ???/ that's like basics!

hands down buy that A&H

another mixer you might want to tap in is :

Vestax PMC 37 PRO ... ( Vestax PMC 37 pro Link )
a killer mixing table!
more expensive that's true but still it's like so versatile and no it's not a dedicated scratch mixer

last things : you want more then two channels ?
if not I'd also suggest high rank Rane mixers ( Oakey uses them if you care to know ... not that I even like him ) .... these mixers are indestructible!

and last suggestion if you want to go cheap at the last minute

Ecler Smac pro 40 !
excellent and cheap mixer about 500 bucks ( link to retailer )
ok you might be thinking what the hell ? angled faders?
trust me their good and make it even more convenient to mix with!

I've used these tons and omg ... I love these ecler mixers ... TOP QUALITY... their kinda hard to find in the usa which is sad ... but in Europe they sell a lot and djs love em
