Group F: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia

Italiano's are winning this group. The fight for 2nd between Paraguay or Slovakia. I'm thinking it will be Slovakia.

Should be a breeze for the italians but they always seem to struggle in the group stages.

Would be mighty embarassing if they didn't finish anything other than first here..

Yeah, Italy always struggles in the first phase and they have a rather mediocre team this year. I'm thinking Paraguay has a chance to win this group with Italy as second.

Italy vs. Paraguay. This match was splendid indeed! Full of excitement and suspense. I was rooting for Paraguay, but sadly Italy scored a "fluke" goal.

Posted by chesco on Jun-14-2010 22:20:

kind of expected that from the opener in this group. Two defensive teams kind of cancelled each other out. italy were far better when they took that guy marchisio off. He's not very good.

Di natale should start up front with pazzini. The way lippi appears to favour these juventus players is going to get us knocked out..

No worries dude. They'll get it together. Italiano's won 4 World Cups

They've only won 2, actually.

And I meant 3, sorry

Posted by FCB_Fanatic on Jun-20-2010 16:33:

those Italians really have a weak team, I hope they will be eliminated very quickly so they can't have the luck they had 4 years ago

Whoosh!

1934 doesn't count...hence the Mussolini pic.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jun-22-2010 18:24:

by your definition then germany has never won the world cup?

LOL, what "definition"? All I'm saying is that there's an enormous chance that the 1934 Cup was fixed by Mussolini.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Jun-22-2010 19:23:

ahh you mean like in south korea where we would have added another trophy?

Posted by chesco on Jun-24-2010 17:39:

What an embarrassing world cup for us. Lippi is to blame for this for expecting guys like cannavaro, zambrotta, gattuso and buffon to carry us through another world cup.

Hopefully prandelli coming in should see changes because they are badly needed.

Posted by bluE_Neon on Jun-24-2010 18:16:

What I find really hard to believe as it seems is that in Italy their isn't enough young talent? The teams average age is historic and playing against these youngsters [Spain, Germany, Ghana, Netherlands, etc.], well you need players with super efficient engine's
But in futbol anything is possible, I'm thinking that the team ultimately lost their winning touch for this WC. In my opinion they seemed cocky and lazy.

Posted by woscar on Jun-24-2010 18:27:

To be fair, the worst thing that could have happened to Italy was Pirlo's injury. Montolivo's game was beyond shit during the whole World Cup. Notice how Italy's game changed immediately when Pirlo went in. Not sending him in after the halftime break was a stupid, stupid move by Lippi.

Posted by bluE_Neon on Jun-24-2010 18:36:

Pirlo is not what he used to be years ago. He's too damn slow & his finesse isn't enough. He shouldn't be even playing on the national squad

Posted by woscar on Jun-24-2010 19:02:

Did you even watch the game or are you just talking out or your ass? Old and slow or not he still is the brains behind the Italian squad and he proved it with the few minutes he was given. Had he gone in earlier, I think Italy could have even won the match.

we are there... between 16 best..... NICE MATCH & the longest match on this WC
