Official 2010 MLB/Toronto Blue Jays thread

Don't know if anyone is watching, but the Jays are playing some good baseball right now.

I know we had a better start last year and we have a huge month coming up against the Rays x 2, Yankees, RedSox, Phillies, Colorado, SD & SF. If they can make it out of this month 10-12 games above .500 we'll we have a chance.

More people need to get out and support these guys.

Go Jays Go!

Love the team they have this year.
Since the World Series era, I don't think I've watched as many Jays games.
And I agree, more support is needed - but Rogers needs to do their part....
More family deals and maybe a discount incentive with your ticket stub to fill the park.

On a side note: Roy Halladay just threw the 20th perfect game EVER.

The Jays haven't played anyone real yet. They will come back to Earth real soon.

you like Cricket?

I'm really liking the young pitching staff this year. I don't expect them to keep this pace up but if they can play 500 ball this year I would be happy.....give them a couple years and they should be a contender for a playoff spot.

Go Jays Go

and yes i love Cricket too ;p

i follow the jays and think their team is pretty good, but they will always have a hard time being in the hardest division in baseball with teams such as the devil rays, yankees and red sox. it would be beautiful if they could make the playoffs but my expectations aren't that high. i still hope for the best though.

They are doing the all you can eat section lol which seems to sell out.

The next 9 games are going to tell us a lot about how good the Jays are.

3 against Tampa, 3 against NY and then 3 more against Tampa. Toronto could easily be 10-12 games out of first by the middle of June.

I thought this thread is about the Jays

Fine he's a former, but formers I don't give a shit for when they get glory after leaving. It's a slap in the face not worth celebrating about.

They are a much better team then last year. Lind & Hill have yet to take off and are headed in the right direction. We can expect Bautista and Gonzalez to cool down at some point. Sniders return should off set any of that. Hopefully the injuries dont come in bunches. I think this edition of the Jays have a good chance of contending.

I am, by association, a massive Jays fan right now

Watched last night, may end up going tonight - aren't we almost top of our division?

Exciting!

two tough losses for the Jays, both in the ninth inning.

Big win today!!!

Eat that Yankees.

Posted by XxGreekStylexX on Jun-06-2010 04:20:

so glad they won tonight

this was a big win in that they blew their last 2 low scoring games against the rays...

way to show that they can compete with the big boys

What a game. A pitchers dual, totally lived up to the hype. Even in a low scoring game, the Jays still managed to add to their league leading homerun total with two early solo shots, and Jeter smacked an early 2 run shot just as I was on my way to pick up some more liquid treats. There were several long balls that didn't quite go yard, but put a hush over the crowd until the out was actually made. The game finally ended on slumping Aaron Hill's walkoff single in the bottom of the 14th inning. We were surrounded by Yankee fans in our section, but we were all giving highfives to each other as the game ended. It was an amazing day of baseball, and even on the losing end, you have to feel good just being a part of it in the stands. The roof was open, sun was out, every seat was full in the lower bowls, and the energy in the stadium was off the charts. Too many people knock the Skydome, but on this Sunday afternoon it was an absolute gem of a ballpark, and all 20 of us there left thnking about grabbing tickets for the next one (even though we had been there for 4.5 hours at that point.)

Amazing.

The jays are a great team to watch this year.

Was at a game with the dome open on Sunday, hoping to go this weekend again.

Great game tonight, Bautista hits his 31st of the season.

It could be a lot worse, interested to see how the trade deadline goes. Escobar was a great pick up.

I wonder it Bautista will still be a Jay. I can't imagine he will be able to continue this production over the coming years. Its not only his hitting but he has been amazing at throwing out runners.

I hate to see him go and the offer has to be right I think, otherwise keep him and see if he can keep putting a few butts in the seats.

escobar has been my hero this season.
