-- Superwave 8080 emulation?

Superwave 8080 emulation?

Seems that way

There's nothing on the Superwave web that I can see so i'm hoping it's not a fake. Their other VST synths are pretty tasty.

Looks interesting but I hope to god "there" coding is better than "there" spelling.

LOL yeah

Their free P8 synth was pretty good tbh

Seems like Rob Lee is involved on at least the sound design side

Delicious tbfh

It's all synthedit. Looks and sounds like just another skin for that awful instrument (Superwave P8).

I thought you didn't use VST synths?

Most people who use P8 really like it.

Synthedit doesn't automatically make it bad either. There's a couple of very highly respected guys over at KVR called Xoxos and De Lamancha who use it and create modules for it. You might as well say anything created in Reaktor is shite.

sounded awful.

In general, anything made with SynthEdit sounds like poo, but there are some things that were quite good (i.e., Sylenth1 v1.0). My main gripe with Superwave was how terrible the sawtooth waveforms sounded and how you had to program each part of the supersaw individually. This kinda took away from the actual supersaw emulation.

Anyone looking for a supersaw should look to either Sylenth1, Synth1, or RB2K1 for Reaktor.

Dont post false information mate, Sylenth1 v1 only had the gui made with synthedit. It had nothing to do with the sound.,

Sorry, thanks for the correction. I knew that at least some part of it was made with Synthedit. At least I was still trying to say something good about it despite it being wrong?

P.S. - Your Massive soundset is f*ing awesome.

I've been playing with a few lately. I'm particurarly liking Waldorf Largo. But I have played with Superwave P8. It's a funny instrument because sometimes it can soudn pretty decent... but it's #1 problem is this aweful phasing that comes from the summing algorithm on the oscillators -- when you attempt to mix-in more than one OSC. It just screams cheap POS VSTi. I hear that same thing in this audio demo.

I guess you could work around it if you were crafty, and then you could probably make a nice track with it, but that's too much work for me. Simple production = great music IMO.

the blofeld can do the Supersaw trance pluck and pad to a T. Closest emulation i've come across.

I've had both a Blofeld and an original Q (not the +). After I first loaded up Largo, I didn't miss either. It's quiet the VSTi....

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jun-02-2010 01:02:

It is but you do have to boost the highs a tad. The blofeld sounds extremely bright with no adulterations.

Synth1 is fucking awesome. It's free and you can run many many instances of it without making a dent in the cpu.
