K'naan - Troubadour

Came out fall last year, I realize I am lagging a bit but in watching ESPN's world cup commercial for the umpteenth time (which I can't get enough of), I saw a link to the official song for this world cup, Wavin' Flag.

Really enjoy how K'naan's sound is definitely hip hop, but such a refreshing variant of it. From the sounds, melodies, to the lyrics, such a joy to listen to.

Any other fans?

it's funny - i saw him for the first time maybe 7 years ago, by mistake. i was skiing at whistler while some mountain music festival was going on and he happened to be playing in the evening so i checked him out, made a point to remember who has was - and followed his career for quite some time after.

his story is a really interesting one, and his sound matured with the troubadour album. i saw him play at coachella last year and it was a really emotional set - he's a great storyteller and really draws you into the music, makes you believe in how important it is.

so yeah, i'm a bit of a fan. see him if you ever get a chance. won't disappoint.
