Aspartame has been renamed and is now being marketed as a natural sweetener
quote:
In response to growing awareness about the dangers of artificial sweeteners, what does the manufacturer of one of the world's most notable artificial sweeteners do? Why, rename it and begin marketing it as natural, of course. This is precisely the strategy of Ajinomoto, maker of aspartame, which hopes to pull the wool over the eyes of the public with its rebranded version of aspartame, called "AminoSweet". Despite the myriad of evidence gained over the years showing that aspartame is a danger
quote:
Changing aspartame's name to something that is "appealing and memorable", in Ajinomoto's own words, may hoodwink some but hopefully most will reject this clever marketing tactic as nothing more than a desperate attempt to preserve the company's multi-billion dollar cash cow. Do not be deceived.
Are people still propagating this bullshit?

Toxicity rumours aside, why the fuck would you want to ingest foul-tasting crap like Aspartame when there's stevia and agave nectar to be had?
Aspartame is for the same people who go to McD's, order a couple of Big Macs, x-large fries and then ask for a diet coke to make themselves feel better about the day's worth of calories they're about to stuff into their maw.
Stevia is rather gross actually.
Splenda FTW.
fuck, i hate all sweetners, just give me real sugar.

airforce pilots aren't allowed to consume aspartame. is this just a precaution or do they know something we don't?

Splenda is good, but kills your taste buds for anything remotely sweet. Try putting plain ol' sugar in your coffee next time after having used Splenda.

my gf guzzles down way too many diet sodas containing this nasty shit. my medical anthropology professor also said aspartame multiplies the size of tumors... yikes. fuck that.
just eat some regular sugar, but not too much. and you are fine! everything in moderation. no need for these synthetic substitutes. food is meant to be food and natural. agave nectar is the bomb btw.
FOOD. FOOD IS FOOD.
Needs a Laibach remix.
kill it with beer.
