SVD, overrated or underrated?

I've heard a lot of people on both sides of this. I, for one, say underrated. I think his productions are second to none, and every time I've seen him live (3 times so far) it's been an awesome set.

He used to be underrated. Now he's immensely overrated.

Overrated for sure.

what makes him overrated?

some of his early work are underrated (see dark roast svd remix).
havent listened to newer stuff.

You can't really put a label like "electro house" on him. Like most of the best dj's they don't just spin one genre of music. I'd even go as far as to say he's one of the more diverse dj's in terms of track selection.

Diverse? Proove it.

look at any of the track lists from his sets or identity mixes. He played Arnej-they need us at the last show I saw him at. That's pretty far from electro house. His productions aren't all electro house either. I just think it's really hard to pigeon hole him into a specific genre like that.

1. It sounds like shit.
2. You call that diversity? That is exactly like the rest of the stuff he plays.

If you think that track sounds like shit then you just have bad taste in music. There's no real way around that.

also, if you think everything he plays sounds like this, you clearly don't listen to him at all. ALSO, if you think this, like "all music he plays" is electro house, then you just plain don't know what you're talking about.

It's really dull and shitty. It's dull because many of the current djs tend to play dull shit like that.

You can't play bangers for 6 hours straight. It's called feeling the crowd. Which is what GOOD DJ'S are the best at.

It seems more like you don't listem to him at all. It's pretty common fact that SvD have in the last couple of years left his tech trance past and jumped on the trendy tech house bandwagon. At least in the past he was in the fore front of his sound. But now he is one among trillions of djs that spins the same stuff.

If you've heard any of the last like 5 productions he's finished, you'd realize that his sound is still like none other.

Daisy??? Which should be the REAL Trance Energy anthem this year. Have you heard many DJ's play anything like that? You're crazy if you say yes.

DJ's can evolve with the times and still bring their own unique style to the genre. If that wasn't true we'd still be listening to Sandstorm and Zombie Nation.

Was released couple of days ago...

i have heard that his set are very good, i love his style, used to hate him but he is one step over from the others at this moment... but i don't see whats the hype with the reach out track

That song was in an identity mix of his over a month ago. It's a great song, but it's not an anthem.
