The best innovative Trance Producer

give me your idea of the best inovative producer you can come up with..

and if you disagree with someone please tell us WHY!

okay my choice would be tiesto (just look at his album full of all kinds of genres!!) and armin van buuren (his latest productions are all quite different, just try to find the resemblence in sunspot and yet an other day! )

Posted by djshorts on Jul-20-2002 14:57:

my choice would be tiesto too his tracks so many different ends of the spectrum!

Smile

Innovative......either oliver lieb or l-vee because they keep using alias after alias.......i guess you could throw ferry corsten in there also. They keep changing and innovating with different sounds and different aliases. Then again..tiesto and pvd and avb are also innovative because they keep expanding their sounds.

Firstly I can see sooo much flaming taking place here, but hey, the mods will sort it out

Personally I'd say that there are a lot of guys who could fit into this, TTA mentioned Oliver Lieb & I'd have him in there, Ferry also has a lot of different styles under different aliases, Benno De Goeij has a few too with his, Micheal woods too is pretty good at it, to be honest most of the trance producers have to use variable sounds & styles to keep credibility so its gonna be a free for all on throwing successful names in here me thinks

i disagree.

why?

because tiesto is trying to fit with the whole techy sound that is popular atm, if you look at all the tracks he plays about 90% have techy elements within them. he hardly plays any uplifting trance whatsoever. or hardtrance. so you could hardly say he covers the whole spectrum.

i would have to say matt hardwick. he manages to play SHOKK and andain in the same set he is the most versitile in music structure and crowd reaction, all 99% of you will ever have heard is his warm up, when he plays a proper set, you will see he is the most versitile dj around, ask tu_face or spad or anyone who saw him do his 4 hours set at gatecrasher or at promsie (me)

matt hardwick is the msot underated DJ i nthe world atm, and actually, i think i like it that way

i was talking about productions not dj sets..
but you're right i guess (i never ever heared an hardwick set ) tiesto is quite techy!

but tell me what do you think is the best innovative producer!

Because you, DuMonde TrAnCeR, are the most obsessive anti-Tiesto person in the whole fucking world. You always are looking for a Tiesto thread to start flaming with no arguments, like here, where were talking about PRODUCTIONS.

Now, if you want to see a "spectrum" just take a look at the In My Memory album:

Magik Journey
In my memory
Obsession
Lethal Industry

Totall opposites but absolute quality.

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-20-2002 16:24:

Robert Nickson for his remixes

Posted by djshorts on Jul-20-2002 16:25:

now now !

one solution

stick fatboy slim - brighton beach on

roll a joint and just chill

no more beef!

Posted by dj_whizz on Jul-20-2002 16:38:

yea i would have to probally say push aswell and ferry also above and beyond have got a few not sure how many though

Posted by IronDragon on Jul-20-2002 16:44:

Mauro Picotto. Though his own works aren't too diverse his works with CRW (trance-like) and Joy Kitikonti (hard trance-house like) show his diversity

Matt Darey. Shows he can do uplifting and hard well (even though his hard stuff isn't nearly as good as his uplifting)

Tiesto. For the reasons everyone else has said

Tillmann Urhmacher. Does it all as well

Posted by k.k.d. on Jul-20-2002 16:45:

Honnestly, I don't find Tiesto to be "innovative".. I'm yet to hear the tune that innovates from him...

On the other hand, BT makes from time to time some innovative sounding, which almost qualifies him as innovative.. but still ;(

looks like your the only person looking for some kind of arguement here mate.

i may get "flamed" myself now for saying this but im going with PVD, mainly because i cant stop listening to marco v - i feel you (paul van dyk remix) and various other tunes. I just love his uplifting style which is shown in his productions, and also his sets.

As for Tiesto, i just wish he would leave this techno crap, and come back into the uplifting world.

Posted by Strike on Jul-20-2002 17:10:

i think ferry would have the most number of sounds
michael woods pulls it off sometimes
another one would hafta be oakey
it might not be good, but it's different...

Posted by assassin8 on Jul-20-2002 18:33:

I think its Armin van Buuren, because he has so many styles and I think he is AWESOME!!!!

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jul-20-2002 18:51:

Francois Chabloz (Chab/Moogwai) is so underrated. Not only has he delivered some of the most beautiful uplifting tracks in trance(Viola anyone?),he also keeps pushing the boundaries of prog with a consistent stream of dark, devious but never boring remixes and productions under his Chab alias.Respect!!

LMFAO! no im not, you just another rbainwashed tiesto fan. last year tiesto was one of the best trance DJs around, easily, and one of my faves. but now he is nothing! his remixes are poor! he album was fucking awful, and hes sets are far from entertaining. but now he just has a bunch of idiot wannabe followers (with the exception fo maybe a select few) who hardly know shit, support him becuase he used to be good, but he isnt anymore! thats why he won the fucking dancestar award. i find it sad that so many peopel can be so fickle, thats why i comment like this.

and:

Magik Journey
In my memory
Obsession
Lethal Industry

all these rtacks are practially the same, proggy, with techy beats and basslines, they have difference progressive type "melodies" to them, all the same, boring and crap.

he was a 100 times the man last year, now he is just part of the "commercial-underground" as it were

for a another thing im not flaming, im showing my point, just because you cant take it doesnt mean you have to argue back?

Posted by djSlain on Jul-20-2002 19:00:

hands down: BT

well he isnt outstanding but he is very good, i love dave davis - resouce and many of the moogqai productions, very different, but in essence still keeping to a same them of music. there is no artist in trance atm that covers all different aspects.

Astral Projection/SFX
KLF

Forerunners of electronic trance. If anybody knows anything about 89-93 trance, tell me.

as i said there isnt any, they all lean on a particular style of production, they may add elements of other sub-genres in but thats it.

and i like it this way. an artist wouldnt really be liked if they made allsorts, because in the end you cant please everyone at once. if any of my fave artists changed there style to be "innovative" it be dissapointed

i get your point but what i wanna make clear is that for an example.. armin he usually produces great (imo) energetic trance tunes but then his latest own production is more of a progressive tune (sunspot)!! producers who have the balls to do that kind of thing are in my opinion innovative and aren't afraid to do something "new"..

Posted by NooKLeaR on Jul-20-2002 19:21:

tiesto !!! i love IMM - great album. Filled with all dif kinds of songs....uplfiting...progressive...everything!! he just needs to quit all the prog stuff and get back to his uplifting stuff!! man those were the days....energy 2000!!!
