John Digweed live at Axis, Boston, 28-07-1997

Not sure if anyone caught this one but on Digweed's Transitions 300th show last week he played an old recorded set from 1997 that was never released before.

I thought it was easily among the best Digweed sets ever recorded. The different genres/sounds he used in this set was unlike any other set I heard from him.

Here's another upload of the show in 192 kbps, as opposed to OP's VBR which balances out at 149 (probably just my head but it sounds muddy to me, the bass line doesn't 'oomph').

It's split into two parts (the first link at least, the one from Hotfile), but cuts off the last track Digweed plays after he says thanks for listening to the show.

P.S. that mix of Remember is badass. It actually like this version

The opening track is really lush. Would love an ID on that one.

EDIT: This whole set is fucking gold. Really deep, groovy and trancey, builds up really nicely and the mixing is smooth as fuck. I just wish Diggers would stop trying to sell me his compilation/tour/label throughout.

Haha true those interruptions were pretty annoying, but yeah absolutely agree with everything you said. The first hour to me was the best part of the set, where he was laying down what seemed to be deep houseish tunes.

Blue Memory Dub has always been the only mix of Remember I like. Downloading

I thought the Sasha remix would've been a lot better if there was a dub.

Mood II Swing mixes!

Thanks for uploading this beauty!

Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Remix) is one of my all time favorites!

Nice. Back when Digweed was good. Getting this for sure.

Meh. I'm not the biggest Jan Johnston fan (though there are definitely a number of her songs that I love), but I've just never really liked Remember. The Mood II Swing mixes are good, listening to them now, but I still like BT's Blue Memory Dub a lot more.

Both Paul Van Dyk's and Sasha's mixes would have been better as a Dub or Instrumental, imo. Eh. I just really don't like her voice that much on this song.

I hate Jan Johnston and I hate Remember, but I really liked the Mood II Swing mixes as BT played them on his '97 EM.

PvD's Totally Recalled Mix only has the "Remember"-bit in the break, from what I can recall. One of the reasons I quite like it.

Ahh, I didn't know about that. I've only heard his Recollected Mix, which is full of vocals. Would be a beast of a track otherwise, in the same vein of Dos Deviants or something like that.

I'll have to see if I can get my hands on the Totally Recalled Mix. Sounds like I might really like it.

I don't hate her; I actually really love a few of her songs, but I do hate the majority of them and really, really dislike Remember. And the more I listen to all these different mixes (trying to find good ones) and hearing them ruined by her vocals, the more I hate the song.

I love Sunblind and Mercury & Solace.

I hate pretty much everything else.

Posted by RebeL9 on Jun-08-2010 18:07:

The highlight of the set is easily Fragile part 2. What a dark edged moody track. Much different from the original. Amazing.

Great set! Some real gems in there, quality trance.
