The Root of Conspiracy Theories

The root of all conspiracy theories, at least the ones involving economics, revolves around an idea that people will do anything for wealth. america.gov put it succinctly:

quote:
Economic conspiracy theories are often based on the false, but popular, idea that powerful individuals are motivated overwhelmingly by their desire for wealth, rather than the wide variety of human motivations we all experience. (This one-dimensional, cartoonish view of human nature is at the heart of Marxist ideology, which once held hundreds of millions under its sway.)

My question is, do you think there are enough people like this to really carry out some of these conspiracy theories.

My opinion, is yes, at least when I look at human history. The atrocities therein provide more than enough evidence to debunk america.gov's argument against it. That doesn't mean I belive all of them, I just believe they are possible.

TA needs its own "FEMA camp" to throw all of you people in.

I listened to Armin's latest album. People will do anything for money.

That's a one dimensional, cartoonish view of Marxism.

I was asking a question. I didn't make some absurd argument while I fashioned a new tin-foil hat.

Yeah, I have to agree with system-j. Marxism involves all kinds of market analyses that show why things are the way they are (naturally, in capitalism), without necessarily attributing things to greedy individual actors.
