A Horrifying Look at Animal Abuse Inside a Dairy Farm

Be warned: this video is not for the faint of heart, especially if youre an animal lover. The footage comes from Conklin Dairy Farms in Ohio, where hidden cameras caught workers cruelly and mercilessly abusing cows and calves. I think people should know where the milk that they drink comes from.

What the fuck is wrong with people???

I'm sorry but this doesn't bother me one bit....as long as milk and cheese taste so good how they treat the animals doesn't even occur to me. Now if reading bedtime stories and tucking them in at night made the milk and cheese taste even better then I would be all for it Just like I would be all for it if ripping their tails off made the milk and cheese better.

You are an alarmist and your scare tactics do not work. They only make your argument less valid.

A case of 1 farm not treating animals properly does not mean that every farm partakes in such behaviours.

Stressed animals are no where near as efficient as healthy, well treated ones. Milk production goes down, meat quality will be shit.

i seem to remember a thread like this posted in the cOr a while back.

i will admit that it is disturbing and wrong to mistreat these animals but not every dairy farm does this so its not enough for my to stop using dairy products. im pretty sure the milk i use does not come from ohio. thanks for absolutely nothing.

I don't care about efficiency....all I care about is how good the final product tastes. Meat quality on Dairy cows is already shit...hence why we don't eat dairy cows.

But why are they beating them ? What is the reason behind it ? Were there any charges filed against them ?

And how could it be hindden cameras when they are talking for the camera

If I recall correctly the cow's dissed them by stepping on their new kicks.

They are beating them because they are fucked in the head. These dairy farmers obviously have mental problems. Anyone twisted enough to brutalize an innocent animal is not beyond doing the same to a human being. Please tell me they are being prosecuted and will have some sort of criminal record based on these tapes.

Another concern would be are these idiots tainting the milk we drink?

have you ever beaten an innocent fly, spider, ant, mosquito, or any other insect?

While that video is brutal. It hardly reflects how 99% of farms operate.

One of my friend's parents own a prominent Ontario dairy farm, and the situation is hardly like that. There are regular quality control inspections. Also, the more dairy the farm produces, the more stringent the inspections are.

Also the type of debaser behavior witnessed in that video is not a function of harvesting dairy. Those degenerates would manifest their idiocy in some other form if they didn't have that farm.

Drink milk. its good for you.

Loool.

Come on.. If any of these animals were a threatened species, then supporting farm animals' rights would be justified in my opinion. First of all, let's concentrate the deteriorating environment, humans at war, and endangered species.. Once we take care of that.. then we should worry about the tlc our food receives before it arrives to our local supermarkets. Don't get me wrong.. I would never treat these animals like that.. it is sad that they have to go through that, but realistically.. we have more prominent issues that we need to resolve.

On a more positive note, a good way to support your cause is to buy from farms which treat their animals humanely.

There is nothing humane about how we treat any animals that we rely on for food....we treat them like slaves......if we are willing to treat animals as slaves then what's to stop us from treating other humans as slaves....oh wait....nevermind.

Posted by urban_legend on Jun-15-2010 18:37:

That video is just brutal. I am sure its only a select few farmers who do that but still.

I wouldn't mind doing the same to those red necked retards, just dispicable.

Posted by Intangible on Jun-15-2010 18:52:

Realistically there is a horrifying look to almost anything that is made... clothes, foods, electronics...

And as much as love animals... human rights are much more important to me.

All that being said... this video is awful

Sickening.

So is this thread made to express knee-jerk reactions, or are you also going to post what has happened since the vid by the vegan activists got out?

Posted by gimmebeatz on Jun-15-2010 19:39:

thats fucking disgusting a person would do that to a poor helpless animal!! theyll probably get probation or some other bs reprimanding that does nothing in turn to make the punishment fit the crime. this country is so leniant in terms of the punishments they hand out for animal abuse. it makes me sick.

Posted by VERTiG0 on Jun-15-2010 20:13:

The only good dairy product is cheese anyway

I think this problem goes a bit further ... they dont just treat animals very poorly, but they inject them with awful amounts of antibiotics and chemicals that eventually get passed to you, the consumer, in the meat and the milk. And also, no wonder why Americans are so fat. Those cows are waaaay too fat and waaaay too unhealthy to be fed to the public. The meat would be much healthier and leaner if the animals were allowed to roam, eat fresh grass, exercise, and enjoy themselves. But then its alll about profits, right? *Cough ... BP ... cough*

Some people say that these crazy cows theoretically pass their negative energy from stress and unhealthy living via the milk and meat down to you. That is, if you believe in that sort of thing.

I think this is more than just a case against animal cruelty. I dont think its a natural product they're selling, those cows are just so big and too messed up ... thats not the kind of meat that we used to eat before, this is some frankenstein shit.

I posted a similar thread in the TOTA forum last year (or maybe the year before?) entitled something along the lines of "Some of the realities of Non-Human Animal Living".
