Partying During G20
Will you be partying next weekend(June 24-27), or do you think that the G20 craziness will be too much of an inconvenience?
Being from outside the city myself I am wondering how much of a nuisance traffic/road closures and other factors will be.
From what they're saying on the news, it seems as though it will be a big hassle.
I'm planning to go out to Sunnyside on Sunday, otherwise no major partying plans
I wouldn't go anywhere near Toronto for any reason this weekend.
King Street is a disaster any time after about 8am, and especially at night when the restaurants, bars, clubs etc in the area get going. It's essentially gridlock, with streetcars backed up for blocks.
If I were coming downtown to go out, I would take the subway, avoiding streetcar routes south of Dundas between Bathurst and Yonge.
This sucks, I'm off work for a week and I can't even enjoy the downtown as per normal.
I'm actually playing Sat night at Lily on College St, hoping that this will be far enough away from the core that it won't be an issue.
Although I do have to be at Queen and John Sat at noon.....which I'm not looking forward to at all....
... I'm going with the flow - but I have a feeling that the flow wont include partying this weekend.
Staying as far away as possible... although my home is far too close for my liking
going camping on the 24th for a week
lol
I'll be laying low this wknd. I don't have any patience for this G20 BS. I already saw a protest yesterday at Yonge and Dundas. I've never seen so many bike cops! It looked like the Tour De France, or should I say the Tour De Toronto!
I think I'll stick to my hood this wknd, and just go out on College, if anywhere...
Piknic?
LOL!!! I just got told that I don't have to come into work on Friday because of the G20, and I still get paid! HIYO!

I'm really hating on all people that are off this week AND getting paid
argh! I'm too North
otherwise I'd just have an extra week at home!
I'm staying out of Toronto this upcoming weekend b/c of the G20.
G20 weekend is also a good time to get together with friends and make your own party.
However, I'm going on a cruise on Sunday and I'm really dreading what the traffic situation may be like. ugh
I think I'll stay in...
Not for sure yet but I'm leaning that way...
Spadina, Yonge, and York exits will be closed all weekend so EVERYBODY is going to get off on Jarvis so that'll be a disaster in itself...

I'm heading to footwork on saturday for my birthday...coming in from the north of the city to queen and bathurst to park at my friend's house and walk over to footy..i'm now wondering if i'll hit any major traffic if I take the allen rd, to bathurst and straight south...
