West coast Techno?
Alright guys so i finally arrived in california and stuck in San Diego until i get my van up and running for a road trip to vancouver along the coast.
Ive been itching for some minimal techhouse, proggy, techno music and i sure as hell didn't find much when i was living in vancouver. But last time i was in LA i did stumble upon a place (avalon?) that had 2 hot females spinning some pretty good minimal.. hoping that wasnt just for the haloween party but i was keen to see more.
So where do you guys recommend for some underground? I looked at the events page and pretty disappointed to not see many internationals swinging past. So it looks like ill be going for local talent. Also this will be my first time properly seeing california so if anyone is up for a jam or wants to hang out lemme know cause ill be stopping by all the surf towns and major cities along the way.
King King on Fridays though we mix up deep, deep tech, techno and house!
Miss Kitten and Paolo Mojo play at Avalon next weekend. MK has def gone towards techno last I heard her, and Paolo is known to mix it up between techno & house.
And fuck all that. Lee Burridge is at Avalon this weekend. That's where everyone should be, if you aren't at EDC. I'd rather get a surely satisfying night seeing Lee at avalon over EDC right now. Especially if you are 21+
lee burridge over edc anyday.
Deeper Moods
Droid Behavior
all you need to know.

Culprit parties both at The Standard in downtown LA and Temporary Spaces 3 in Hollywood. This Thursday we'll have Three and Droog along with an album preview of [a]ppendics.shuffle at Temporary Spaces 3. July 11 we'll have Dyed Soundorom with Jonny White and Nitin at The Standard.
Avalon is hit or miss for techno, it depends on which promoter is taking the helm that night. Although Giant and Avaland work/promote Avalon together, Giant tends to bring in the bigger, more commercial house names and Avaland brings in the more underground techno/tech house you'd be looking for.
Example, this Saturday Lee Burridge headlines the main room at Avalon, several weeks back it was Erick Morillo.
