Any EWQL Stormdrum 2 users here?
I need another virtual drum about as much as I need another hole in my head, but the EWQL 50% sale has me seriously considering Stormdrum 2. I've lusted over it for years, but never took the plunge because of the price and because I don't really need it, but it covers a LOT of ground that Maschine, Battery, Stylus RMX, etc. don't.
So, anyway, I know it's a long shot, but does anybody here have SD2? How well do you think it complements the instruments I mentioned above?

i have stormdrum 2 and pro, its all sum up to what you want, if you are after percussion from all over the world to big sounding drums then go for it..
Mize
It's a completely different kettle of fish than what you already have. Kind of like comparing Omnisphere/Nexus etc to Ra.
I'm hoping to bag complete composer shortly for 540. I think you'll find that's on a ridiculous offer too at most etailers.
Thanks for the input, Mize and Geoff! That's pretty much what I was I thinking and those are the reasons that I really want it, so I think I'm going to go for it. Oh...and, just so you know, when my wife asks about the bank balance, I'm going to blame it on you two for encouraging me.

Follow-up questions for you guys - how many individual outputs does SD2 have? In other words, if I have a kit loaded, can I assign each instrument to its own track in my DAW and, if so, how many different tracks does SD2 allow?
Does anyone have a link to somewhere one could purchase this stuff at the discount..?

i work for east west, if you guys have any probs running the stuff let me know! And yeah anniversary sale ends on the 30th!
www.eastwestsamples.com should be an aus dealer of our products.
I was a user of SD1, but haven't used SD2.
My biggest complaints about SD1 were that it was basically all loops and you had to use that POS Intakt sampler with it.
Both of these boat anchors appear to be completely gone in SD2 - they're giving you actual drum samples and MIDI grooves so you should be able to tweak to your heart's content. Given the superb quality of the samples in SD1, it's probably well worth the investment.
But as a disclaimer, I'll reiterate that I don't have hands-on experience with SD2 and there might be other problems. All I know is that they've fixed what I believed to be the only problems with the original product.
Hey - good to know we've got EWQL staff around!
