Spain - Germany (July 7) [Semi Final]
May very well turn out to be the game of the tournament.
I know the Germans are in great form right now but so far they have destroyed good teams with crap defenses.
If Spain finally do show up on Wednesday, I think they will have the Germans number and will go through. 3:1 to Espanyol.
I'm thinking the Germans have got the bit in their teeth and aren't going to suffer a Spanish team that barely got past Paraguay and Portgual. 2-1, Germany.

Originally posted by LAdazeNYnights sounds about right to me. the spanish side had too much trouble scoring against paraguay and portugal. let's be honest here - the german team has looked incredible in the back. 2-0 to the germans with a podolski goal, i hope.
can't wait!
viva espana. David Villa <3 Shame Silva & Mata aren't playing but at least the 'Navas' Experiment seems over, he spends so much time on the ground he could be a member of groundstaff.
NED-GER for Final Match! Germans will win!
lol spain

I have to say that if Spain make the final that I'm tempted to find a cheap flight to Barca or something for sunday.
Germanys in trouble, Paul the psychic octupus has predicted a Spanish win... http://www.smh.com.au/world-cup-201...tml?autostart=1

Originally posted by FallingMoon but all in all the Germans did not show up to play nearly as tough as they should have. They were more about defense (which doesn't score goals) and when they tried to attack the Spanish defense held too strong.

Originally posted by woscar To be fair, Joachim Lw went in with the same plan he had for the games against England and Argentina. The difference was that this time they played against the best midfield in the world, one that rarely ever makes mistakes and is masterful at maintaining possession. And then, their defense is far superior to Argentina's and England's. Argentina has questionable players in the back and the English defenders were playing as if they were all night up drinking the night before.

Originally posted by raveed I think the inexperience of the Germans finally showed yesterday. They just seemed very very nervous and didn't know what to do with the ball when they had it. One analyst made a great comment about how teams playing Spain put this pressure on themselves that they wont see much of the ball through the game and that whenever they do , they have to make it count which turned out to be Germany's undoing. Obviously Mueller's absence made a big difference since his replacements were rubbish but I think this German team is going to be one to watch out for in Brazil in 4 years time. Most of the players are very young and they are already a couple steps short of the world class level. On a side note, Germany used to be my most hated team until this world cup. I guess the main reason was Ballack and not the actual team. I think they really did play the most attractive football in this tournament. Hear that Ballack? Go retire now.
