Predators

I just got back from watching it and if I'm honest, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. If you want a dynamite script, great character development and a gripping plot, then you're probably better off watching something else.

But as far as entertainment is concerned, it was rather enjoyable. I've always been a fan of the franchise, which might make me a bit biased towards it, but if you like science fiction I recommend going to see it.

The characters were OK, the acting was sufficient, the action was good and despite everyone knowing what the Predators are/look like, there was still a fair amount of suspense in the film to keep be stuck to my seat.

Anyone seen it, or going to see it?

But seriously, I saw Alien vs. Predator 2, and that was one of the shittiest movies I ever laid my eyes on. I can't really believe this might be watchable.

Yeah, that was pretty shit to be fair. It's a shame really, because that part of the franchise had great potential, but they totally blew it with the first one, never mind the second one.

You might not like Predators, but there's only one way to find out.

Eh... I really don't like these kind of references in modern sequels. Terminator: Salvation was chocked full of fist pump audience-recognition moments like that.

I've seen some of the promo material for Predators and I'm deeply unconvinced. I'm certainly not going to pay and see it at the cinema.

Completely agree about AVP, but totally different people behind the two projects.

I'm going tomorrow night. Skeptical about Adrien Brody as an action lead, but we'll see.

[obvious statement]it was a teen slasher movie with aliens and predator, and you could have replaced the aliens and preds with just random monsters and it would have been the same movie. it was a complete shit fest.

i'm also on the fence with predators.

you can't beat the first one. even the 2nd one was good to me (when i was like 10).

the big problem is they dont want to spend a lot of money on these movies cause the reputation of the past few have been bollocks.

get a bunch of B/C list actors put them in the jungle for a couple weeks, make a movie.

they really need to have a movie where the marines crash land on the predators home planet...and give the marines some balls. that's what i want to see.

Yeah, is probably the worst film of all time according to me. the second one was worse, but had that feeling of a student indie film, so hard to compare directly.

The focus of AVP is the aliens and the predators. The actors are meant to be forgettable and expendable. Incredible stories like The Pianist are stark contrasts from shit stories like AVP.
