This is the PNW bro, no one has AC at home...

Doesn't help I am at my beach place which is an A-frame with 25ft windows and a western exposure.

Posted by igottaknow on Jul-09-2010 02:18:

the day before it was 100 and humid. for the past few nights it hasn't cool down much 83 at midnight is awful.

Posted by BTG on Jul-09-2010 02:19:

it's 45 degrees C in Toronto (with humid ex) and i work in a warehouse cause i dont take living seriously..and it was fucking hot like the devils dick.

i didn't do anything today. i just melted at my desk with a fan in my face (not that you care but: the desk infront of me has xbox 360s pointed at my face and my fan is sucking that air and shooting 360 heat in my mouth)

i should just quit but w/e. it's a pay check

2004. Kansas City heat wave. 100+ degrees during the 3 strait days I was there. My friend's air conditioning in his appartment and car were busted and it was the most miserable time of my life. Went to a wedding and had to wear a suit too. All we could do was stand in the cold shower for relief. How people lived without AC back in the day is beyond me.

We've been getting 105+ here pretty regularly. With that hot breeze that feels like a blow dryer.

Air conditioning. Pool.

In your face.

Posted by tubularbills on Jul-09-2010 04:01:

we only hit 84 degrees today. but we were up in the 100s just about two weeks ago before all this stupid pattern changing occured. damn tropical storm!

in any case, i'm sure many people from Chicago remember the heat wave of 1995. 104 w/ a heat index of 120 was a max on july 13th. but it was over 100 for 3 days. (and above 90 for like 14). during the 3-day span near 500 people died across the chicago metro area.

We've been getting lobstered these past couple of days. It's not so much the heat that bothers me, it's the heat + the fucking humidity that makes it unbearable.
I think I saw an Amish guy buy an air conditioner earlier today.

dry heat, in it's extremes sucks just as bad as humid heat. depending on the location, high winds often occur w/ dry heat...so yeah it feels like a hair dryer in your face. ugh.

in any case, however, florida (tropical) like heat does feel much different than phoenix (continental) like heat.

Remember this winter when people were talking about how global warming was a farce because it was so cold? Can we now make the opposite point because it's been so damn hot?

I mean, we can make a few weeks into an over-sweeping generalization, right?

I fully support global warming. No matter how much this heat + humidity sucks, I'd take it over the freezing fucking tundra that is Canadian winter ANY DAY.
