Snow Patrol - Open Your Eyes (Tom Lue Remix)

Hi guys, was bored one day and decided to remix an old favorite Snow Patrol song of mine. It's still in it's raw and unmastered form but tell me what you think about it so far. Personally, I can see it being the perfect last song at a massive. Hope you like it! =)

Nice remix, Tom! I'm not familiar with the original, but I like what you've done with this. The arrangement is good and the mix sounds great on my work system (Harman-Kardon 2.1).

@ Cryophonik: This is actually the first song i've ever produced using actual studio monitors instead of my old computer speakers. Makes a world of a difference. KRK Rokit 5's nothing special, I run a very minimal home studio.

I'm not familiar with the original myself, and your remix isn't a style of music that I particularly enjoy.

There's no point in me leaving much feedback. It would probably be vague and useless. However, I will say that I'm sure this would appeal to quite a large audience. You could always try promoting it in many places!

Ah thanks for your feedback Owsey. To be quite honest, I felt like remixing this track would appeal more to people as well. After I started showing some of my friends (Who have no usual interest in EDM music at all but has heard of Snow Patrol) They all gave me positive feedback in terms of, "Oh, now I get what you're doing" or "You music sounds way better with vocals.." hahah, but whatever's, a complement is a complement right?

Wow nice mix of this song tomo! Can't hear much in the way of a kick but would definitely make a great sunrise song to bliss out to, very pretty piano. I don't know how Owen and cryo managed to avoid hearing the original haha, must pay even less attention to radio than I do. I've got a bit of a soft spot for this band after seeing them live, some of their tracks have a nice euphoria which you've translated well here

Sounds very pretty and well conceived. The lightness of the music bed really provides a cool contrast with the male vocals. Really liking this one.

@ Viber: I want to say I play the piano but honestly, I can not read a single note at all. I would say that i'm awesome at playing by ear, been playing and have been playing by ear for as long as I can remember. I can actually play harmonically improv with me and my friends whenever we session live.

Damn, wish i had that ability...started to play the piano but stopped because it was too boring to be dependent on the notes.
