What song/track/remix are you working on now?

What song/track/remix are you working on now?
I just want to see the kind of music y'all guys and girls make, that come on the Production Studio forum on TA!

As for me, I am working on a Remix of a vocal song that I love and I feel that it's so close but yet so far from done.

I made a list of the Things I need to do to get the remix done!
I am going to take a day on each task to get things sounding right.

1) Work on DRUMS - Going to make Drum kits and find and use some cool drums sample LOOPS like Cryophonik! (I am going to sin)

2) GROOVE - Going to Jack a groove of a sample beat I like! http://thebeattalk.com/note-quantiz...ve-of-your-beat

3) BASS - I need to make a fat/phat (what ever u want to call it) Bass patch and may be do some layering for the bass!

4) Melody / Lead - Going to work / rework the Melody - http://www.trancetutorial.com/Melod...20Beginners.htm

5) PADs - It's a House song so maybe i will not need a pad.

6) FX - Going to look for any thing and every thing so the Track won't be SO SO!

7) The Final MIX Down - Going to Track every thing down in Propellerhead's Record because I want to use the SSL mixer in Record!

8) Mastering - Going to send it in to get Mastered! (Yes, I know its a remix)

9) Contact The Record Label A & R Rep and give them the Remix under a new Alias / Name.

10) If the Record Label Tell's me Fuck You, I am going to give the Remix out for free to every dj and EDM lover on the net as a free download that wants the remix!

Well, See how it gos!

you should probably send it to the label to see if they like it first before you pay to get it mastered

I'm just putting the finishing touches on 2 songs - one proggy vocal house, one pop-tronica - working on a new dance song with a new singer, re-recording the vocals for another song that I've been working on for too long tomorrow, and halfway done with an ambient chillout track for yet another vocalist. Whew! I need an assistant. OK, forum time's over, back to composing.

hmm i guess this isnt much different than the music promo section, you should probably use that.

anyhoo, just sending in my new track to labels which i just finished 5 minutes ago. a earlier version can be found in music promo section, progressive house ;]

Wrapping up the finishing touches on a collab between me and Novastorm. It's turning out rather massive if I say so myself.

Being very stuck with a trance track in which i end up spending all my time playing with EQ when there is nothing wrong with the track. Also cant get any lead sounds in my mind for where to take it

i just started working on a 130 bpm proggy track 2 days ago. still a long way to get it finished, but i am happy with the progress so far.

done:
- percussion (might need some tweaks)
- bassline
- FXs
- pad
- some intro melodies

to be done:
- breakdown
- main melody
- automation
- compression/eq/mastering

so, i would say 75% of the work still needs to be done. can't wait to see how it will turn out.

Personally working on original stuff... usually stick at 140bpm but started a 128bpm chilled out summerish track last night.

So i got 2 projects running at the moment.

Working on absolutely nothing, like I've been doing for months now.

Depressing, really. Nothing's coming out.

Dude - get on it!

I want to hear all these once they're done. [email protected]

As for me personally, still grinding on my masterpiece modelled after the movie "Sunshine" and I'm also putting in hard work on a project using Oppenheimer's famous "I am become death, destroyer worlds" - Just finished processing the vocals for that one and about to get started with the composition.

FYI if I see these ideas stolen I'll come find you, torture you, and kill you.

I know how you feel. In the past year, I have made all of two and a half minutes of music.

Sorry, just trying to give you a pep talk.

Posted by Viber on Jul-15-2010 19:06:

-A remix for the theme song from Nip\Tuck (stuck with sound issues + recovering from a deleted sample incident)

-A trance remix for Street Fighter's 2 Ryu Theme

-A "genre-less" oriental track which i'm not in a hurry to finish from some reason.

The last 20% are the hardest for me

I've been where you're at. At least you're not trying to fight it. What I had to do was sit in front of my DAW and screw around. If nothing came out in fifteen to thirty minutes, I just shut it off. Eventually, however, I found myself working on it for longer than thirty minutes. And presto! An instant classic on soundcloud that only hardcore EDM enthusiasts could relate to.

Posted by chick on Jul-15-2010 20:52:

trying to make a remix of guy gerber's timing... it's not really a good song for remixing but i change it completley into some trippy electro minimal.. will try to make more housier remix also.

Tell me about it!
one of the best pieces I've encountered with! it's a shame that this reconstruction is not really a replica of the beautiful original from Levine, it made Meagan's funeral scene heartbreaking.

The remix i'm doing is kinda inspired from the show...tried to design a synth sound similar to the one James S. Levine used in some of his pieces for the show too...

Yeah, it was the closest thing I could find. The chords and stuff are basically the same, though.

The tracks they picked from other artists were often excellent as well. Like this one that plays when Christian and Kimber are at the sex party:

Yea, they knew their EDM!
I remember how surprised i was when i found out they played some 7-Hurtz tracks on the show

This track was probably my favorite in the show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW2UnDcTruA

^most pimpin' beat i've heard in house

The best use of a track was when they used Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place in this scene where they had to re-assemble a body
