how many project files do you have?

how many have you accumalated? not full tracks just project files, whatever; theres no real point to this thread.

im at 587 projects, lots of variation projects, and some just some small ideas with a few patches and barebone mixing.

I've used 6 or 7 different DAWs over the years, have stuff stored on old HDs, etc. Not gonna count 'em!

(but, I would guesstimate the number approaches 1000).

Yeah this looks about right. I try go through them as much as I can and trash everything without any potential, but the number stays more or less the same.

just a realization for my case, when I had far less experience, i would create so many variation projects, and saves of the same track, that went different ways. These days i have usually a main file, maybe 2-3 variants at most.

have 200 gb of project backups here. But I have done backups only since 2002/2003. All the old tracks that were made on a pc, forget them. All lost, which is REALLY annoying when it comes to remix parts of those oldies.
