nice mix corjay. Def some nice prog in there, which is refreshing to hear.

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it.. good prog these days is hard to find.

i'll give it a shot.

looking for feedback or do i just post a standard cool mix thx for share?

ps...tool is not off yet. heavy mtl fell through, but you will see them in town soon

the first 20 minutes are golden imo. I was surprised at the smooth mixing (never heard a set from you yet, so i assume all noob mixes are going to be phrased badly and smashed in out of time)...my guess is traktor?

After the carlo lio track it started getting a little too "unicorny" for my tastes, but no biggy, that is just a matter of taste.

I need to put my finger on the samples used for the lio track...it feels like i have heard almost everything used in the track before and i am wondering who's idea he stole.

The closing track also blatently rips off a older trance track...possibly estuera...but i can't be arsed to pick through trance records to be sure.

All in all, i enjoyed this much more than i expected...and even if some of the later stuff was not for me at all, it was nice to go outside of my comfort zone.

Constructive criticism: Add some more drama to your transitions by using your eq and possibly a filter.

nice job.

Tool at Heavy MTL would have been epic. Doesn't seem like they're going on tour until next summer though.. of well.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, I kind of am a noob but I think I have a pretty good ear, and I took my time to make sure this mix sounded exactly the way I wanted it to. I guess I could be a little more daring with my EQing, but the goal of this mix was to transition smoothly into different genres within a relatively short time and have it flow nicely, which I think I achieved.

I do love the first 20 minutes of the mix as well, it's the type of stuff I'm really enjoying and digging for at the moment, slower deeper tech house with fun basslines and nice jazz samples.

As for the prog, do you really think it's "unicorny"? hahaha.. that's not what I was going for, but to each their own. Don't tell me the Bedrock track isn't bad ass.

no matter what the bpm of the track, the type of synth work and the leads in the tracks towards the end are unicorny for me. Don't take offense, i sometimes listen to gay bathhouse music.

heavy mtl was the longest 2 days of my life

Good mix man. Good flow and mixing and overall upbeat and very energetic track selection. I actually really dug "The Mask" - didn't think I was capable of liking anything by Adam K anymore, but thought it was very cool. Overall I enjoyed this and it was good to work out to.

Thanks a lot, really glad you liked it! The first time I heard "The Mask" Victor Calderone played it at Stereo in May, and I literally lost my shit... it sounded SOOO massive on that sound system, the booming layered kick drum is unreal.. the next day I went on a frenzy trying to find it, found it pretty quickly cuz of the lyrics. I'm totally over Adam K's stuff too, this track definitely is refreshing.

I actually just finished up another set this afternoon, it's another summer-ish feeling mix, will upload soon.

Out with the old in with the new, just finished up this set a few days ago. Much more dance floor friendly, definitely a pool side set. Some tribal, some tech, some funky beats..
