-- Why are some houses listed as condos...

Dunno Why are some houses listed as condos...

I am going through house listings because I am bored and there are always houses that are marked as condos and way less than the median price around them... They look like single family dwellings though... Any of you failed or soon to fail real-estate people here know what this means?

Example

We decided to take tonight off, the guy I work with insists on using a laptop only and it keeps overheating because its fucking hot here.

I heard Nou's buying a $650,000 condo.

I couldn't resist though!

Seriously though... I do not understand why these are listed as condos and are half the price of homes in the same area.

Its not in a tower, its a single family unit... it makes no sense!

Also the keep pollutin my data when I just wanna see single family homes and then its like "OH ITS A CONDO!!!"

Posted by shaw on Jul-28-2010 03:02:

I heard Nou's buying a $1.3 million house.

you just dont understand the term condominium. the land is shared under a condo corporation. i dont feel like getting into specifics here, but youre probably looking at townhomes and not even realizing it

a place like that just a few miles north in vancouver, would cost you well over a million.

Posted by EricB. on Jul-28-2010 03:54:

what are detached homes going for in your neighbourhood nou? curious.

here in toronto average house price is about $500 000, a small clunker will run you 390 000

As a condo?

A house like that in Queen Anne would easily be 3+ million. Shits expensive here.

Not sure what it is in all of Seattle, I think its about 300k (just looked its about 320). I do not know what that covers though, probably just Seattle proper. For the county it looks a bit higher.

The neighborhood I am living in though is like 1.5 million median I think, but thats probably the extreme in Seattle and a good portion of King County.

shit i need to get out of toronto lol

ive been saving for years and still cant afford something nice. prices just keep sky rocketing. but it sure as hell helps when you sell a place and your commission cheque is 10 thousand dollars

Eh I wouldn't come to Seattle, its still one of the most expensive cities in the country unless you wanna live in hobo town or something.

I want to say something witty about having your member housed and condoms, but I'm too tired to think of a punchline
