I don't get why some people call it a summer blockbuster. Because it had Leo in it? Because it was successful? Christopher Nolan wrote, produced, and directed it. He wanted to take a complex script that makes people think for themselves how to interpret something that has no objectively correct interpretation and took it to the masses by using an A list actor, some decent effects, and a prime release date... the normal trappings of dumbed down cinema. I really respect what he's done with it. I've seen it once, and it wasn't my favorite movie he's done, but that might change after a few more viewings, like I find most of his films do.

I think you may have missed the point then.
Well, your question was "why do people consider it a summer blockbuster". By listing the reasons why people do so, you answered your own question. We get your point, its just irrelevant to the question you want answered.

GUYS
TIESTO PLAYED MY TRACK
ps: i watched the whole thing and it cracked me up rofl
To me a summer blockbuster has a high profile actor, a reliance on visual effects, and an unoriginal, usually clich, script. It's the last part where Inception separates itself from the pack I think. To make a film that challenges the general public and make it the biggest seller at the box office for two weeks is pretty admirable imo.

This movie was all style, no substance(im exaggerating a bit). But really, what was up with that "From Russia With Love" James Bond shit at the end?
