i was listening to ISOS3 and Southern Sun came up.. but I noticed that the lyrics are different.. i checked track list.. its TIesto's mix,so i load up my Tiesto mix mp3 and the lyrics are how I remembered them.. "cuz its easier to fly" but the one on ISOS3 is "cuz its easier to triumph"? whats up with that

hmmm, very interesting, i never noticed that, lemme check it out...

Yup, it's the unreleased version... I guess Oakie wanted to change the lyrics later on...

Tiesto seems to be playing this version live, too. He played it at homelands. I guess Oakie wanted it cheerier.

There are TWO Tiesto Remixes, One un-released one wich he plays and the Released one wich is not featured on isos3

That should clear things up. By the way, The second Tiesto remix is not called "Tiesto`s in search of sunrise mix" just incase you get mixed up

that's true
also if u have the original u'll noticed it has the same vocals like the unreleased version (i think)

and it's supposed to be "Cause it's easier to drown"

yea, i noticed it on TA member Cobalt's sig, (I hope he dun mind me posting this, no offense intended!):

... 'cause it's easier to fly, than to face another night of southern sun, and your love is all around, in the end you set me free... set me free...
- Southern Sun (DJ Tisto's Official G-Rated "I Want To Live" Vinyl Mix)

... 'cause it's easier to drown, than to face the weight of this insanity, then the truth comes back around, and in the end you're not for me... not for me...
- Southern Sun (DJ Tisto's Secret Unreleased In Search Of Sunrise 3 "I Want To Die" Where The Hell Is This? Dutch Mix)

pretty interesting i think..i remember awhile back there was a thread about how oakey faded out the vinyl version of 'southern sun (tiesto remix)' to spite Tiesto...maybe this is tiesto's way of getting him back?

i just bought it today at HMV records

i was standing there and holding it and this kid comes up
and starts searching through TIESTO lookin for a CD. hehe then he looks at the top rack where the new releases were and it wasnt there

so is the unreleased mix ever gonna be released, or what? and what's the real name for it?

btw, are there, by any chance, TWO different tiesto remixes of silence?

the first version i heard of southern sun was the one he played on the 9 hour set, i liket hat version better than the one that was released, it sounds more full of a song for some reason, the released one sounds kind of empty

Yeah, the orignal rip we all got our hands on was the unreleased Tisto mix. The lyrics in that version are better, more emotional, and flow with the music far better. But did Oakie release that one? Noooo. I can just imagine the dialogue between the two:

TIESTO: This track is mindblowing! Let's keep it covered up and mysteriously drop it in sets to build anticipation until release! My mix will be the summer anthem!

OAKIE: Nah, I have a better idea. Let's tone down the lyrics, they're waaay too depressing, and change them to some uplifting happy garbage that doesn't flow with the melody. Then we'll hype the media with impunity before anyone even hears the song, and hope it becomes the next Castles In the Sky.

TIESTO: But...

OAKIE: Hello, I'm Oakenfold. I can do whatever the hell I want you Dutch maggot.

TIESTO: ::breaks a Bunkka CD in half and throws it at Paul in rage::

Guys... I'm working on putting the unreleased lyrics on the released version.

I want it to be perfectly done... and I'll try to find a Eq setting to have this feeling of the melody like when we heard it on the live set.

I'll set this special TA edition release in august... lol
Hope tiesto won't get mad at me.

Posted by Mills on Jul-26-2002 00:00:

tiestos first mix that he plays is so much more pumping that the other one it just makes it seem so pathetic.
