Alchemy Planet Earth Expansion - Pay What U Want!

Camel Audio just announced that they will be offering their Planet Earth Expansion for Alchemy at whatever price you're willing to pay for the month of August! At least 50% of the proceeds will go to Friends of the Earth. KVR announcement:

BTW, if you don't already have Alchemy, I highly recommend it - it's an incredible and very unique synth from a company with some of the best customer support around IMO. But, if you don't have it, you can download the Alchemy Player for free and use it with Planet Earth and any of the other Alchemy expansions.

Just got it.

Awesome.

I like Camels open policy of telling you the average and highest payments and an average so you know roughly where to pitch!

Yep

As long as you look at yourself in the mirror and say 'bum' over and over again.

Cheers for sharing! Could only afford $10 but it's better than $.01

can't these sounds be made with analogue instruments? why do we have to pay them if we can make our own. Are they insulting us by saying we're newbs and can't program synths?

Alchemy has pretty good virtual analog capabilities, but its strength is in its additive, granular, and spectral synthesis and sample mangling capabilities, which are pretty much exclusive to the digital domain.

What is your deal? You've said you don't even own analog synths but suddenly you're going all "analog elitist" here?

I don't think so, especially considering that Camel Audio is UK-based company.

I think I spent 15 minutes just mesing with a couple of the Arksun patches.

It's like the first time I heard the D50 all over again

WOW. Thanks for the heads up!

Bumping this because today is the last day to get in this offer. Also, Camel Audio has sweetened the deal:

quote:
If we reach our target of $50,000/40,000/32,000 we will give each Planet Earth participant a coupon for 50% Off a Sound Library. We'll also give 10% of all discounted sales to Friends of the Earth!

And, even though it looks like they may fall just short of $50K,...

quote:
Thanks to everyone who has contributed for Planet Earth. We are so close to reaching our target that we are going to provide everyone with the 50% off a sound library voucher regardless of whether we cross the 50k threshold. If you've been holding out for the voucher, now is the time to jump onboard.

The voucher is good through October 4.

BigTone!

And, yeah, Camel Audio is the best!

Posted by tehlord on Aug-31-2010 15:54:

I was looking at Luftrum too. I'm wanting ambience and mahusive paddage I think.

Posted by Coyke on Aug-31-2010 17:03:

Did get it today, was thinking all the time about the purchase. Its well worth it. Now fingers crossed they reach those sales and then it will be BigTone for me.

If you read the second quote in my post above, you'll see that they've already promised the vouchers even if they don't reach $50K.

So I guess Ive missed the boat? Just read this.

Also Dave you say if you have not got the synth you can get a free player - what does this mean? Is it like a sample player you cannot edit?
