EVOLVE @ Stereo with Victor Calderone
Here are some random observations about the night
- I love the DJ booth and where it's moved. Really makes the party a much better experience.
- The club was busy, but not as busy as the Valentines Day or May long weekend dates. You had room to dance, the door wasn't a mess outside, etc. I think people are spent from Tenaglia and Vibe the weeks before.
- The crowd was pretty good. A lot of girls, people ready to dance, very polite, good energy.
- Victor was great, as usual. Really cool that he closed out the night with five straight Dennis Ferrer productions. Wonder what got into him...
- Can't wait for the next Evolve party, which is looking like November from the sounds of it...
If I hadn't had gone to Tenaglia 2 weeks ago I would have went to see Calderone again. I try to only go to after hours once a month...
What kind of music did he play? Was it 8 hours of pounding techno like in May or did he switch it up a little bit more? I'd love to see him play some tribal like he used to back in the day.
he's comes here wayyy too often.
Victor was on point Saturday night!! Got there around 5ish and was absolutely lovin the flow of his set.. Straight up groovy techno with a tiny hint of percussion. He's a great DJ and definitely deserves his trimonthly residency at the club. And yes, I was extremely pleased to see some very nice lookin' women smiling away on the dancefloor!
He played tech house, techno, tribal.. I definitely wouldn't say he played pounding techno even for an hour straight. I heard him drop Gary beck's Pollinator with "Let me set you free" vocals which was pretty cool. I think he played Reis(carlo lio) and Gary beck's remix 2 of m0h's Se7en... M0h was jumping lols
The music was good, the party was very high class, tons of beautiful girls, not too too packed, but busy, no problem with lineup... I could seriously say that Stereo has gone up to International level for me..
On the other hand I wasn't feeling myself on Saturday and my friend got sick around 6, so that totally buzz killed the night for me. I was really really drained from blackout the night before as well, I think after 3 years of partying like this, my body is starting to tell me to take it easy
Stef, Hisham, you guys missed a great party, was no sausage fest, was much better then the first calderone night I was at in Febuary.

Nice to hear that it was fun, solid reviews.
Came close to making it out, But after the last 3 VC nights, they were pretty weak, VC should be due for a PODcast release series, its been too long
Sunday We went Pik Nik in the rain & Some Old School Public Enemy.
Next party : labour day ~ Wonder who's at the temple that weekend.
Has anyone heard anything for the Sunday ?
I hear its D-Formation on the Sunday, I'm not 100% certain but I have a feeling its a safe bet. I have also been anxiously awaiting news for the Sunday of Labour Day weekend.
Marco Carola is doing toronto on the 5th...
Would be cool if he dropped by mtl!

oooo Carola....I'd like to see him....That'd be a solid Book.
Appears you're right! On his Myspace
D-Formation is always Top Notch, Excellent;
his Set in November was one of the best at the Temple since it opened imo ~ hmmmm If Carlo lio....is at Pik Nik....I wonder if he'd be extendin an opening....
D-Formation (()) Nov
I'm still in the afterglow of the last hour of Victor's set. Sure, the main set was great, but the classics at the end was awesome. Five straight Dennis Ferrer tracks (Sandcastles, P 2 Da J, Touched the Sky, Transitions, The Cure and The Cause) and Danny Tenaglia's mix of Heaven will go down as yet another Stereo moment for me..
