pvd LP2002 essential mix

this has been discussed before and the thread was closed but:

first off, i'm not complaining or trying to flame Technaut ... i'm merely presenting facts.

i have download the mp3 ... listened to the mp3.
yes, winamp reports it as being stereo.
however, winamp stereo just means that there is a L and an R channel.
the file is DUAL-MONO.

want proof?
decode the mp3 to wave.
compare the L and the R waveform.
both are the exact same.

conclusion: MONO fits better than stereo would.

some of you should apologise to LESHIY.

sorry, tried to attach a small .gif showing the waveform here but it didn't work.

However can I state that my digital stereo was set to stereo and my recording software was set to stereo. So I dont know what has went wrong. If someone would like to point out what i did wrong then go ahead

Hello,

If both are exaclty the same then please explain when I load the MP3 into Cool Edit Pro the bars at the bottum showing left and right channels bounce at different times, which would mean both channels are differrent?

don't know ... like i said before, decode it to wave and compare waveforms. that is the best way to tell. mp3 are not considered to be "reference".

does it really sound stereo to your ears? listen with headphones.

i decoded this the other to burn it to a cd. The channels ARE DIFFERENT meaning, its not mono. The problem is that around the 60th minute or so until somewhere near the end, RADIO ONE, fucked up the broadcast and it heavily favours the left channel (or right, im not sure since it was a week ago). The left channel is much stronger than the right channel (look at the wav in soundforge or cool edit and notice how 'weak' the other channel looks) so it maybe sounds like its mono.

Its Stereo, for sure.
Its Radio 1's Fuckup, not technauts.

This problem is technauts release, and 1reals release, further confirming it.

I think everyone should thank technaut for providing us with this awesome mix, and even if it was in 128k mono, then stop bitching unless you can do better.
