Ziptnf - Radioactive Sound [hypnotic psytrance]

I've been wanting to play a few of these tracks for a while, but never got to build a proper set around them. This one isn't my normal bouncy full-on style, but it's still got a ton of power. The last half can be pretty hardcore at times. I hope this set will attract the real psy-heads, this should be a real treat for some of you.

Logic Bomb - Sonic Algebra
Headroom - Stereotype Writer
Ananda Shake - Ground Speed
Xerox & Illumination - Under Pressure
Psychotic Micro - Take Over
Poison - Radio Active
Mad Netic - Transmission
Slug - Hardwired
Multistate - HQ Part II
EMP - Attack of the Moose
Twisted System - Overtone
Stereopanic - Synthetic Explosion

That one is the most tame of all the tracks. Nice and laid back

Posted by Hallucinary on Aug-16-2010 13:25:

From the start this mix had a deeper tone very intense! I really Like Logic Bomb Mainly there older stuff but this track was good!
The Headroom track had a lot of groove almost prog psyish!
you pushed things into gear with the next trackhad more of kick to it, more power even though it feels slightly distorted
at the begining. Though the transition felt a bit fast ,unexpected into Xerox & Illumination, can't go wrong with them!!
cracking next couple of tracks really built up the speed
The Transmission track was awesome so much in one track!
The last 3 tracks had some real twisted energy going on, very much a dark Vibe
The full on track at the end made for a good ending!!
Mixing was very good thoughout no mistakes that I could hear! Really deep set,Nice track selection!!

Thanks, man. I've made a lot of psytrance sets, and it's rare that I surprise myself with the energy of my own mixes. Yeah, one or two of the transitions are a little weak, but I somehow managed to blow the roof off with this one. I find it exceedingly trippy and well rounded. I hope everyone else likes it!

Going to check for sure.

i liked it for the most part, some of the tracks weren't to my taste but you do know how to mix the stuff great.

Thanks for listening! I warned you it would be intense, and I know you don't always like the super hardcore stuff.

Hope everyone else enjoys!

that part didn't minded me, i just didn't like a few of the track in the middle, because of their sound.

im still downloading it after 3 days...

get better hosting! sort it out!

Posted by ziptnf on Aug-19-2010 12:04:

Really? Megaupload isn't normally that bad, but I see where you're coming from. It does take entirely too long to download, it keeps stopping the download process. This is really pissing me off. I'll have a new host for you shortly, I promise.

Posted by ziptnf on Aug-19-2010 12:39:

I put it in dropbox. Here is the updated link. The original post now has both links.

some great tracks in this, listened to it last night after downloading it at like 0.8kbps LOL mate delete that megaupload link!

i must agree that the second half was better, see, i dont usually listen to psytrance..reason being: it makes me wanna eat mushrooms meh maybe i am getting old and prefer to listen to drone ambient and piano music hmmz

mixing wise, its decent, you can definitely mix 4/4 stuff. but can you mix multi-genre? i'd like to hear another thomas foolery mix from you zip, that was a gudden (its grown on me) or perhaps rock or something? tedpromo is into psyrock and the german shizer atm and that is reeeeally numervang!

Slug - Hardwired

is very..

Dude, did you completely ignore the alternate link that I posted for you?

Yeah, man, I've got a handful more psy/psy-related mixes to bang out, and I'm not sure how much more of them I'm going to do after that, I find myself not liking most of the stuff out there. I hope you at least liked some of the bombs I offered here

I'm not always so much into the multi-genre mixes, it's hard to jam hiphop, trance, and indie rock in the same mix. Not everyone can pull it off. I'm not sure if Thomas Foolery really counts though, that all depends on whether or not you think I pulled it off

Believe it or not, I have tracklists for old school hiphop, and my rock influences as a youngling. I just don't know when I should play them, I hate releasing more than one mix a month.

My favorite track on here is probably Multistate - HQ Part II. That one is pretty xxcore

Thanks for listening!

Posted by KilldaDJ on Aug-20-2010 18:55:

haha dope.

hiphop you can mash anything to it if its within a certain range of bpm..hence i do a mix with stuff thats less than 100bpm, though some tracks fit well into the mix, the tempo throws it out of whack and destroys the flow so i would omit them kind of tracks despite them being good.

i am yet to hear a great mix that has fast and slow tracks in them without it being too technical. i like simplicity i hate it when artists put a chain of effects like vocoding the bass and fuckin glitching their way through a transition. it should be smooooooth. i am guilty of the 'fuck it, i'll just drop it and see what happens'
