Ferry Corsten playing at LIV Thursday October 28th, 2010.
I just got word from a friend that Ferry will be playing at LIV. Talk about a nice venue! I know it might be pricey, but the thursday night parties aren't that ridiculous, usually like $30. Where they get you are the drinks, but that just means pre-partying more, and enjoying the eye candy!
NEW SHOW CONFIRMED: No Sugar Added presents #7 DJ in the world FERRY CORSTEN. Thursday October 28, LIV Miami Beach!

Well the people that promote the party Thursday nights at LIV, NO Sugar Added, just confirmed it. That means that the people outside of TA who don't check out am only website will know about it and hopefully give Ferry a decent crowd. It is a thursday night, but those promoters usually do a good job of bringing out people to their events.
Isn't that place hella expensive? Either way.....I'll finally be 21!!!

its been in the events thread for a week almost.
and dont expect it to be cheap... if kaskade is $60 on a thursday, ferry will probably be $100.
Well,
For whatever reason Kaskade really brings out the ladies ( lot of vocal laced commercial productions) which if you are not a TA or techie, and just an average female club goer is right up your alley. He crosses over to the pop side a lot. I got a table for him last year at gryphon for labor day weekend and that place was more packed than A&B and any other trance event that has gone on their. It was impossible to walk around.
By the way David Tort at space couple weeks ago is a perfect example. The female contingents were out in full force for this guy. Not just the tech house heads. His tracks are pretty commercial.
Now back to event pricing. I say $30-$40 because they have charged that for guys like Sharam and Sander K for their thursday night events. Of which I have attended both.
No disrespect to anyone, but I love Ferry Corsten and want to see him succeed again down here, so when I find out that the successful promoters confirm him and start hyping him up, thats when I know its on. Cause I know some of us might not attend because it is to expensive or because we work the next day.
Who wants a totally packed club ,unless your the club $$$$$
Its a thursday night, you obviously don't want it to be too packed, but you do want a good crowd size because they usually don't come on till like 1:30 or 2 at LIV on thursday nights.
Also, I know I should have checked the events thread to see if anybody had mentioned it, mi cuelpa.
flyers up on www.livnightclub.com
Anything is possible with Liv. But I've never seen a Corsten party outside of WMC charging more than $25 or $30. If this cost a bit more it would not be completely unreasonable.
Hopefully Corsten will not do a "Tiesto" and will not allow Liv to charge $100 for his fans to come see him in Miami. Otherwise he sadly would be playing to a crowd that would consist mostly of non-Corsten fans who have no idea who he is & are only there cause it's Liv and he's the new big DJ they are bringin ...
Amen to Ferry doing a non-Tiesto! Cuz outside of Ultra or going to another city I don't ever see him because I can't justify paying $200.00
for GA at a club and no where near the production value you get out of a tiesto in concert $60.00 ticket.
pretty sure liv sets the prices not the artists.
Not sure if I will attend because I'm going to the Amsterdam Dance Event and will be seeing Ferry on 10/23
Tickets are finally available

Here's my review. As for Liv, anyone whose been there before knows the club is a VIP-bottle type club. IMO not the ideal place for a DJ-driven show. However the sound is setup right & the lights on the roof are just crazy. Unfortunately they did not have video screens set up for the Once Upon a Night 2 show, unlike how Karu did in WMC. The dancefloor and surrounding VIP was full most of the night, but the club was not overpacked. It started to thin out noticeably around 3:30 or so. We missed the beginning of the set, getting there @ 1:20, but I think Corsten had just started. He played until around 4:10/4:15. It seems the crowd was mixed, with some of the LIV VIP-wannabee-regulars & a good amount of trance lovers as well. The crowd had a good energy & seemed into it. But I did not feel the type of energy you get at a trance show in the Space mainroom for example.
On to Corsten, I am a huge fan & overall thought he played a pretty good set. If you like Corsten and his Once Upon a Night compilations then you would have been pleased. He started a bit more downtempo playing more progressive trance and even some housy tracks, which is why I rate the show as good not great. Thankfully by 2 a.m. he put it into second gear, caught a good flow & started dropping more upbeat trance tracks that had everyone dancing. The last hour he banged it out a bit & dropped alot of his tracks as well. Did not see any TAS out, but did see alot of people I had not seen in ages, all of which loved his set (even more so than I did).
Here are the tracks I can ID & remember hearing last night, in no particular order:
Pulser presents Luminal - Sunstorm
Danjo & Andrew Shartner - It is written (Shartner remix)
Rafael Frost - We Were
AVB vs. Corsten - Minack
Thomas Datt - Eden's Light
Corsten presents Pulse - Once
Rank 1 & Jochen Miller vs. Yuri Kane - The Great Escape Right Back mashup
Anton Firtich presents AF Project - Something Wrong
Faithless - Feeling Good (Corsten remix)
Corsten - Radio Crash
Simons & Blanc - Whatever it Takes
Solarstone - Late Summer Fields (Corsten remix)
Dogzilla - Without You (think it was the Rafael Frost remix)
Niko Pavlidis - Long Roads
Amurai - Unconditional Love
Corsten - Out of the Blue (Ottaviani remix)
Tempo Giusto - Metropolitan (Alex Orion remix)
Corsten - Beautiful (remix)
Corsten - Punk
Corsten - Brainbox (Marlo remix)
Corsten - Fire (Flashover Mix)
Coldplay - The Scientist (Maarten de Jong bootleg)
The Airtastic - Worldwide (Anton Firtich remix)
