Deadmau5 performing at MTV VMAs in a few weeks
Thoughts? comments? I can't wait for this...(the thoughts and comments, not the performace, lol) I found a few quotes from some of the big names
Im very proud of you, Deadmau5, that you are doing the VMA Awards! Good luck with that! I think Deadmau5 did an amazing job in the last couple of years His music has been amazing. I saw his live show twice. Once at Coachella and the other time in Stockholm [Sweden], and the show is absolutely stunning!
- Tiesto
I love his show, and I love his music. Production-wise, hes like a higher level than me. For me, he will always be up there [He points to the sky].
- Afrojack
The mau5 does well! I think his music is great. Im a fan of his. I enjoy what he does.
- Paul Oakenfold
His production skills are out of this world, honestly Hes changed dance music forever. Its a breath of fresh air, because hes brought the melody back into house music. Its just good dance music.
- Armin van Buuren
you can watch Tiesto's video message here

Craziness...good for him. 8th note minor chords can take you very far
JK, he's absurdly gifted
not really a fan of his, but good for him i guess
i was expecting mtv to have guetta or paulie d instead
i like Dead Rat much better.....lol
Man if I woulda known 10 years ago that all I needed to do was DJ in a Mickey Mouse costume...
This guy's got great productions but 3/4 of his fans couldn't tell the difference between a great production and five day old dog shit served with mustard.
And half of those fans are still calling him "dead mao five"
...he's wearing a giant mouse head, you haven't figured it out yet??
I used to wish EDM was more popular in the U.S.
Now I wish to God it would go back to being underground...

This is what I say about the situation....
And the mouse takes the cheese
The mouse takes the cheese
Hi-ho, the derry-o
The mouse takes the cheese
And the cheese stands alone
The cheese stands alone
Hi-ho, the derry-o
The cheese stands alone
(P.S. I actually like 3 of his songs....only 3, and I hate myself for liking them
)

Congrats to Deadmau5. I know he was growing bigger, but I didn't release how much until Ultra Music Festival this year. There were people wearing mouse head all over the place, and people running around with flags and banners that say Deadmau5.
Couple of weeks ago I was talking to with this girl about electronic music, and the only thing she knew was deadmau5.
I guess he as broken into the mainstream market when people who don't know edm know him. Like Tiesto, PVD, Armin, and now Deadmau5, and Guetta.
I am not a big fan of Deadmau5 stuff, it's hit or miss, mostly miss in my opinion, but It's always good to see an artist succeed, and go as far as they can.
I hope more edm artists can reach that level, and go even further.
hey least it isnt guetta. shitmau5 is better for edm than having guetta doing it. And with mau5 and kaskade as the two front runners for mainstream edm, mau5 still has a larger pull than kaskade.

good for him I guess
Don't like the guy much but musically, I guess I prefer him being the top of the bunch than the Guettas or Tiestos. He's very talented and very capable of making some legit music, all gimmicks and sound repetition aside. I really enjoyed the songs on his Unhooked release, they show that he still knows how to keep it real, on the production end of things...
i'm very happy for him. i used to be a huge fan until i went to 3 of his shows and honestly thought it was the same exact thing each time. my opinion aside, his productions are great and his marketing is even better so cheers to him.
saw his commercial yesterday when i was watching jersey shore, color me surprised but i say good for him. he blew up quick and seems to just keep getting bigger. i think that first year he put out a lot of really good tracks don't listen to him much now but he's obviously got something. kudos to him and thankfully it's not guetta with akon or something.
Production wise the guy is amazing. I'm all for it.

I think he blows as a DJ, his productions are average and is an absolute Douche of a person.....but I'm glad he's the face of EDM rather than a Guetta. So far his tracks aren't too cheesy, hopefully he doesnt do the hip hop thing anytime soon.
