A pretty dick move to make people pay for the remix parts.

Yes, but it's somehow pretty common these days.

But it shows how low this whole scene has gone. They have loads of amateuers paying 3.99 for the remix parts, get free remixes without paying any royalities, get free Promotion and the only thing they need to pay for is an Ipad because they'll get the Beatport gift cards for free.

Yeah, that's getting really annoying. :/

just to let you know

just noticed some of the comments here & wanted to put the facts in here

unlike other remix competitions , where you pay just for the remix parts - which as some have already mentioned is pretty standard these days, we have also included the original track in the package too. so youy are paying for the pack INCLUDING the original track.. and getting the remix parts in there.. and the chance to then win an apple ipad.

So we actually thought this was a pretty fair deal to all & everyone who wanted to enter the competion. And if you dont want to enter the competition , then the original track & the remixes will be released later too..

I think with paying for the remix parts you can exclude a great deal of people who are not really interested in making a remix
and only want them as cheap dj tools.

At least there is an actual price in this one, not just a release.

I like how you both aren't looking at the camera. Society wants you to but you chose not to because you guys are bad ass. I respect that.

As far as your track, i'm pretty sure Aldo already has 200 tracks with that syncopated minor 7 chord and generic house beat on their playlist. What propelled you to be so generic and mediocre ? They should call this sort of music Shoe Store House

You are a funny dude, dude!

And i think the ipad prize is awesome! You actually get something back if they sign your track!

Nothing for me though, i would never pay for remix parts.

I think charging a few bucks is a great idea. It really ought to cut down on the number of submissions. Maybe my mix will have a chance. I didn't think about lack of royalties until reading this, only that a release on label like Baroque would be a great opportunity.
