Back in February Black Hole Recordings announced that �In Search of Sunrise� - the holy grail of trance music brands - would return in 2010. What followed, in the fraternity at large, was a period of intense, near-frenzied speculation. With Ti�sto departed, who, you asked, would be taking over the ISOS reins?

The answer presented both a natural and instinctive progression for the legendary series� First tipped by Ti�sto, back in 2006, as an artist ready to break, Richard Durand has spent the last 4 years running on trance music�s fast-track. From the early days of his �Lethal Industry� & �Flight 643� rebuilds, he has moved to become one of the most consistently dependable producers on the scene; crafting and shaping his own model sound & style. Parallel to that, his spinning career has graduated from that of �next big thing� to that of headlining, all-club-conquering DJ - a passage that now sees him ranked as one of the 50 hottest spinners on the planet as well as headlining Melbourne�s NYE spectacular- Sensation �The Ocean Of White�. i have seen durand last year in holland in a party that included menno de jong, rank 1, mike, marco v, marcel woods and judge jules and he not only destroyed it and was much much better and harder than any of djs listed above but that 2 hours was by far the best set i heard last year (better than airwave at vola, joof at guv and so on)

artist's productions does not equate to his djing abilities

When I first heard that Richard Durand was doing ISOS, I was excited, then I heard it and I hated everyyyything about it... not his style AT ALL.. he needs to play hard allll the time, which I know he can!
