The new footy season... expectations etc ?

The new season of football is just around the corner (And i dont mean that wimpy american game where it hardly touches your foot, i mean soccer to you )

Who is your team, what do you think so far, with regards to new signings, where do you Realistically think you will end up (and where do u want to) and what would you like to see....

My team is Bolton Wanderers, we've signed some great players so far, Jay Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff, Akin Bulent & Bernard Mendy on loan from PSG to name a couple, and our hero Gudni Bergsson has put off retirement for his 8th full season with us as inspirational leader as well as talks with Ivan Campo of real madrid about a move to the Reebok

I don't think we will go down or have as much trouble this year, And if we finish maybe 11th, 12th or something It will be a great year, survival though is necessary....

what bout ur teams ?

hm, i dont think these two players will play such a decisive role youve given them, xavier.

im very curious what will happen in spain. i think everybody should agree (even the most prejudiced ppl) that the spanish championship is the most competitiv at the moment so its very interesting how things will pan out there - what will happen to barcelona with this guy van gaal? im a real madrid fan, mind you...

is van gaal coach again of barca, didnt the barca fans hate him?

And Liverpool will win the league, Liverpool will get a great midfielder, and will dominate again just like the 1970s and 1980s.

Hah! Why do they even have a season? They should just play a final between Celtic and Rangers and then take 12 months off.

Dog Running

If I am totally honest - I think it'll go like this :-

1. Man Utd.
2. Arsenal.
3. Liverpool.
4. Leeds Utd.
5. Chelsea.

If you look at what let Man Utd down last season it was their defending, so they have gone out and bought Ferdinand, sorted.

I think the team that I support (Chelsea), will be lucky to stay out of bankruptcy this season, but should still finish in the top 5.

defending, yes, and goalkeeping too - remember how Barthez let them down two games in a row? Man were very tight at the top - he put them way behind and that was the end of it coz they never came back...

Well 2002-2003 EPL season will be marked by the dominance of the red and white side that is the pride of Merryside; heres to the 2 trophies that Hulier will lift at the end of the season. Liverpool CL 02/03 & EPL 02/03 Champions --- In El Hadji Diouf we trust!

Le championnat Franais starts this weekend so all I have to say is
ALLEZ LO.M

Toutes les semaines, au stade on vient chanter
Car c'est pour l'OM qu'il faut se dfoncer
Si tu ne chantes pas
Alors rentre chez toi
Tu n'es pas Marseillais, jamais tu le seras

Be Cool!

I'm just gonna sit here in my corner and watch Benfica win it this year... and hope that: in Spain, Bara; in France, PSG; in England, Man U; in Germany, Bayern; in Brazil, Flamengo; and in Italy, Milan, do the same as the "reds" of Portugal

In the dutch league Feyenoord will be first. But first of all, Feyenoord wil win the Supercup against Real Madrid in Monaco. After that will get the double in Holland. I don't know how far Feyenoord will come in the champions league, i hope a quarter finale or further, we've won the uefacup, so now it is time for the campions league. As always i am very optimistic at the beginning of the season.

No way dood, Fenerbahce is the team to watch this year! They got a mind-boggling fan base of 30 million worldwide and have acquired some very good players in the off season including Argentina's Ortega; with Rustu in net they are ready to step it up a notch this season that's for sure

Smiley DJ Leeds

I think Leeds are a serious title threat

Laugh as u may, if they can keep there top 2 or 3 players Kewell, Dukes, Bowyer injury free they are a real threat. They dont have the distractions of the big european tournments and can concentrate on the League. Also we cant underestimate Terry Venables as a coach, sure we got rid of Ferdinand, but there is depth in that spot of the team. Watch out LEEDS
