Dunno The Law against Rave!

I Dunno If anyone else heard this on radio1 today but the AmericanGoverment are trying to secretly pass through a law to shut down Nightclubs over there which

A>condone People taking drugs and
B> Let people in with any socalled "drug paranfinalia"

This "drug Parafinalia" (yeah spellings bad)includes Clubs that sell Glowsticks, dummys and....... BOTTLED WATER!!

The american goverment are just so screwed up,
as if banning things like that is going to make a difference!

What makes it worse is they ban something as innocuous as bottled water which I drink when I'm not even taking anything!

I thought the USA was ment to be the land of the free yet they're discriminating against people by what they wear/dress and do even if they do/dont actually take pills!

Thank god4being British!

I know terrible isn't it. I read about this a while ago and I was fuming when I got to the end of the article. The American government is full of a load of people who....well lets jsut say I'm not the greatest supporter of the White House

Also, this means I will be coming over there more for crazy festivals!

The thing is though, You would of thought a country with such a crap history of discrimination and suchlike over the past century and more would of put an end to prejudice's due to pple's appearence etc.

Its a branch of racism really as its attacking our culture.

Where are they going to draw the line??

yes but if E is involved then they can condemn it all the want!

like when all the whites hated blacks they didnt give two shits about black peopel did they?

its not on the same scale i know but basically if the populatipon has a greta majority hatred against sumthing the government can eanr major brownie points from getting rid of it!

Well the rave scene in america is huge, so it will just drive clubbing underground even more, they should be incouraging big clubs to open up, atleast there is more control over them, not shuttign them down

Which is what they did to combat the outdoor/illegal rave scene over here. Cue the birth of the super club.

Still, what will most likely happen is that the law will get passed then during one of the subsequent trials of people whove been to illegal raves theyll convince that judge that its unconstitutional because of an infringement on freedom of speech which will mean that the bill can be shot down. Good news for any Americans!

The thing is, the Government in the US wants to only apply this law to clubs that play "dance" music. I heard that this law does not apply to Fraternity parties, Rock concerts, and stuff like that. The US is deliberately descriminating ravers and stuff due to drug use. Also if drugs are found/being used on the premises of the vclubs, the PROMOTERS will be held responsible, not the clubber, which is also well unfair.

Only in Ameruica would u not be able to drink, club, smoke until u r old but can drive and own a gun at 16

Hehe, this coming from the same government that's given the RIAA permission to hack, launch DOS attacks and plant virus's on the machines of people suspected of using copyright mp3's. Land of the free my arse The funny thing is, the people just sit back and take it.

Thats right they should. Hardly anyone votes in the US so they can hardly turn round and complain if things dont go their way. Youve only got the right complain if youve voted. And practically no one in the US votes so they shouldnt be allowed to moan.

Anyway I don't think it will be passed. Even if it does, it will get shot down.
