Discuss.

I'll have to try it out.

How many people have iTunes? 100s of millions (instantly) can use ping.

All I am waiting for is to use Facebook Places and compare it to Foursquares.

Anyways... I can't wait for the second gen iPad (facetime)

The fact that Ping only tracks what your buying in the Apple store is pretty lame. It'd be far more useful if it tracked your iTunes library usage - what your listening to, how often, what your currently listening to/etc.

Seems like Ping is just an attempt to drive impulse purchases by following what your friends are buying and providing easy links to buy it also.

This will happen as soon as there's a way to auto-tag and accurately identify content not purchased in iTunes.

I have to be the only one that doesn't use iTunes at all. Winamp FTW

I still only use Winamp for listening to music, iTunes is used for syncing only.

I wont be using Ping, regardless what type of tracking used for music social networking. Wasnt a big fan of myspace at all, only used that for social networking back then.

Correction: myspace was the official myspace killer.

itunes is easily one of the worst music programs out there. i can see if you're already entrenched in using it, why you might jump on something like this, but any kind of app that requires the use of itunes gets an automatic rejection from me.

What do you feel makes iTunes garbage? The Clean UI and ease for cataloguing and storing large amounts of music (I feel) makes this a far superior app to anything else available on either OS.

One of my libraries is just over 4TB, and using iTunes makes it an absolute snap to see what's come in, what it's associated with, when it came in, where it came from etc.

it takes over file associations, occasionally fucks with playlists(from what i understand of what my friends tell me), and doesn't do half of what an excellent program such as Media Monkey does.

edit: oh, and it is notoriously difficult to eradicate once its been installed.

Posted by epicaricacy on Sep-03-2010 17:26:

not to mention when it tries to sync all of the time.
