RIAA/MPAA's new pet bill

This time, they got Sen. Berman to introduce it. Baiscally it gives them legal right to DoS/hack the living shit out of you if they feel like it (because they "suspect" you have their copyrighted shit on your pc). When I say it "gives them the legal right," I mean them only. This doesnt apply to joe sixpack who makes a drum solo on a pair of pans, copyrights it, then has it pirated. Its still illegial for him. Funny, how if you or I were to DoS/Hack someone, we could get life in prision, but apparantly the RIAA/MPAA's right to copyright their shitty one hit wonder bands is more important.

What REALLY frosts me is that they can use DoS attacks. A DoS attack (Denial of Service) basically lags the living shit out of an entire router. Not only does this fuck up the intended target, it also fucks up anyone else on the router, which could be dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of innocent people, who pay $40 bucks a month for reliable, speedy ISP service.

Of course another problem is that their "legal" hacking could become so widespread, milacious illegial hacking could be easily disguised as just part of the "enforcement."

"RIAA: Turning the USA into a draconian society, one bill at a time."

Meh, I'm not worried. It wont pass, at least not in current form? What the fuck is the point of dosing them anyways? You nock em off the net they still got em. Besides think of how much it would cost to enforce that theres litteraly millions of people who have illegal mp3s on there computer. What I dont understand though is why they give a flying fuck, theres no less records being sold than there was pre napster era (not much at least and it can be attributed to the large amount of shit being released)

I'd be surprised if it passed, too. i just can't see it happening. that's pretty big right there.

nah, ain't gonna happen.

i think i'll stick to my non-static-ip-56K-internet service for which i pay... $0/year haha! besides, won't the internet companies be mad that someone is DDOS'ing them? they could kill the pings just like swamper does with the site, but i think that would be illegal in that case.

WOW! It's crazy that they even thought of such a means of gathering information. What a joke!

Err, IMO it won't pass... ISP companies etc will not go for it either.
