New Burial album probably coming in 2011

I think it will be hard for him to win here. Another "Burial style" album will probably mostly be quite boring, unless here really adds a new interesting aspect to it. A completely new style will almost grant dissapointment for shure.
Yay more grimdark boring dubstep. I really didn't get enough after two full albums of it.
i hope it's full of stuff like "Night Bus".
From what I've read in interviews and from the length of time he's spent on it, I'd say he's aware of the artistic problem he's facing. It remains to be seen if he'll tackle it successfully.
Yeah, hopefully he's got something a little fresher.

I think the guy's problem is that he just isn't a musician, or even a proper producer. He made his music in such a completely unusual and enforced way that it had a completely distinctive sound, but he's going to have to work really hard to create a new sound with such limited tools.
He has a remix of Commix due out later this year but I've not heard it yet, nor do I know how old it is. Here it is!
The Instra:Mental remix of Japanese Electronics which is also on that release is shit hot though. Infact it's so good, I'd cry had Bas not stolen my tearducts after Liverpools awful season last year & his need to mourn over Lucas.
i dont want him to stray to far from his roots i like his sound and he has found a way of getting the best out of what hes got.
So apparently this was just one big rumor and isn't true at all. Kode9 is denying it all over twitter: http://twitter.com/kodenine
Honestly doesn't surprise me one bit.
I think he's been talking about a new album for the longest time and it hasn't come out. The man is generally pretty mysterious. He'll most likely come out with a new album out of nowhere.
He's got a special guest mix on BBC radio 1 live right now on Mary Anne Hobbs farewell show.
yeah, it just started...i'm listening to it now. this is awesome so far.

here's their mix... fucking awesome stuff:

Was it really necessary to put that damn Burial crackling noise all over the damn set? Do I really need to constantly be reminded of the fact that Burial is mixing, to the point where it gets distracting? Egads.
That Darkstar-track, though...wonderful stuff. Been wanting an album from these guys for a couple of years now, but on the other hand, it's good that they are taking their time making one.

| Originally posted by Sand Leaper I'm gonna go out on a limb and speculate that the reason Kode said this was to quell some of the hype around Burial, and that the album is actually well under way. The guy hates being in any kind of spotlight, especially now that Burial has become so popular as dubstep for people who don't really like dubstep. This would be one way to deflect some of it. One way out of the creative conundrum Burial is now in would be to go the way he did with Stairwell and Speedball2. Strip everything down, do away with all the samples and atmospherics, and focus on a more minimal and harder-edged album that has more of an eye on the dancefloor. Of course, this isn't gonna have him raking in cash and blogosphere hype like with Untrue, but I doubt that this really was much of a concern for him to begin with. |
